About This Pub
Ah, Ross's Bar – it's one of those neighbourhood gems in Wishaw that gives off that warm, community feel, you know? From what folks are saying, the staff are absolute stars, always greeting you with a smile and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really makes the place stand out. The decor's fresh and well-kept, right down to the immaculate toilets, so you can relax without any worries about the basics. It's brilliant for a laid-back night; whether you're settling in for the footy, joining in on some karaoke for a birthday bash, or just chatting over a reasonably priced pint, it hits the spot nicely. On the flip side, though, the food's not quite up to scratch from what I've heard – one review mentioned it being undercooked, so maybe stick to the drinks if you're not in the mood for a gamble. Plus, with no clear opening times shared, it could be a bit of a faff to coordinate a visit. All in all, it's a solid choice for a quick catch-up or a fun evening with mates, but it might not be the place for a fancy dinner – still, worth popping in if you're local and fancy a proper Scottish pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
-
It's got a clean and modern decor, with spotless toilets that are a rare treat in Scottish pubs – always a plus for a comfy visit.
-
Prices are very reasonable, so you won't break the bank for a good pint or a night out.
-
A great spot for socialising, whether you're watching the footy, celebrating a birthday, or enjoying some karaoke – the atmosphere really shines for these occasions.
Cons
-
The food can be a bit hit or miss; one chap mentioned it was undercooked, which might put you off if you're after a proper meal.
-
No specific operating hours listed, which could make planning a trip a tad tricky – you might end up turning up when it's not open.
-
It seems more of a quick stop for some, like catching the bus, rather than a full evening destination, so it might not have that lasting pull for everyone.
