About This Pub

You know, when you step into the Red Lion, it's like walking into a proper local gem that's got a bit of everything going for it. The food really stands out – think succulent Sunday roasts or those flavour-packed Indian curries that hit the spot every time, all served up with a smile from the team who make you feel right at home. It's got that welcoming buzz with live entertainment and a spacious beer garden, ideal for soaking up the atmosphere or catching the game on the telly. On the flip side, the opening hours can be a bit tricky to pin down, so you might want to double-check before heading out to avoid any disappointment. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual meal or a night out, offering great value and a friendly escape from the everyday, though it does shine brightest when there's something on the calendar.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is an absolute delight, blending hearty British pub classics with authentic Indian flavours that leave you wanting more.
  • The staff are warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
  • It's got a lively atmosphere with live music, karaoke, and quiz nights, plus a cracking beer garden for those sunny afternoons.
  • They show all the live sports on Sky and TNT, so it's perfect for a pint and a match with friends.
  • Great value for money, especially with deals like the lunch menu or Sunday roasts that won't break the bank.
Cons
  • There seems to be a bit of confusion around the opening hours, which might leave you scratching your head if you're planning a visit.
  • It might feel a tad quiet during off-peak times, so if you're after a buzzing crowd, best check when the events are on.

After hearing the pub had recently been taken over and passing through for a pint previously. We decided to go for Father's day. We opted for the Sunday roast. Service was swift and professional with friendly staff. The pub was clean and table set up perfectly for us and our little one. The food was fantastic. Very flavoursome with good portions for the price. 4 stars given for atmosphere only due to the change of ownership finding their feet and more people needed through the door to help create more of atmosohere going forward. Nearest pub to our house and I've been in more in the last month than the previous 9 years in the area. I think that's testament to how the venue is now. Recommend and will be eating here again in the future.

Well we tried Red Lion Wednesfield for lunch and it was exceptional! I had the chefs special hyderabadi lamb shank which fell off the bone (as you can see from what was left 😋). His steak was cooked to perfection, epic chips (I tasted both) & lad said his lamb biryani was the best he’s had. Staff were also excellent, friendly & attentive. Will definitely return.

Visited on an early Thursday afternoon. The pub was quiet but not unexpected due to the time of day. Me and my partner ordered from the lunch time special menu which is 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks for £20. We asked for the starters to arrive with the mains and ordered starters of chicken tenders and loaded wings and then mains of lasagne and double bacon burger. All of the food was piping hot, great portion sizes and also tasty. Overall great pub, friendly service, great food and great value
