About This Pub

Ah, Raikes Hall – it's one of those pubs that just warms your cockles the moment you step inside. From what I've gathered from folks who've been there, the staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and making sure everyone's sorted with a cracking pint. That beer garden is a standout; imagine soaking up the sun all day in a peaceful spot, perfect for unwinding after a day out in Blackpool. The beers are well-kept and reasonably priced, and it's brilliant how dog-friendly it is – great if you're out with your four-legged mate. They've got that classic historic charm too, with a function room for gatherings and fun quiz nights that get everyone buzzing. On the flip side, it's a shame about the beer selection; it's solid but lacks those local brews that could really elevate it. And while the food's a bargain at weekends, you might be out of luck midweek, plus it feels a bit off the beaten track compared to the livelier town pubs. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening – I'd say give it a try if you're after a welcoming spot without the hustle and bustle.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • That beer garden is a real winner, especially on a sunny day; it's spacious, gets plenty of sun, and has a lovely relaxing vibe for enjoying a pint.
  • They've got well-kept beers and lagers that taste spot on, with regulars raving about the clean pints and affordable options.
  • It's super dog-friendly, with snacks and water bowls for furry friends, which is perfect if you're popping in with your pooch.
  • The pub has a great historic feel, full of character, plus perks like a function room, free parking, and fun events like quiz nights that keep things lively.
Cons
  • The beer selection could do with more local options; it's a bit disappointing if you're after something truly regional, as mentioned in a few chats.
  • It might feel a tad out of the way or rougher around the edges compared to the busier town spots, so it's not ideal if you're seeking a more polished vibe.
  • Food is cheap and cheerful, but it's only served on weekends, which could be a downside if you're hoping for a bite midweek.

Recent Reviews

Saw the reviews about the well kept lager and the beer garden, so checked it out. Have to say, great staff and a fantastic pint in a lovely sunny beer garden which will get the sun for most of the day. Highly recommend and it could be my new local for a beer 🍺 😎🍺😎

Carling lager was lovely and clean taste in here. They must change barrels regularly I can taste the difference between this and other pubs, alot cleaner taste the lager in here. I would come again its better than in town and just on outskirts but not as rough as town pubs.

Historic traditional Pub which is full of character and comfortable at the same time. Nice, well sized function room and free car park. Thursday night when I visited, the quiz night was on and seemed really popular. Brilliant to see a Pub busy and people having a good time.

Near Stanley Park. Traditional pub. Bit of a gem. Bowling Green attached too with nice beer garden. Long history. Food served. Real ale offering - no local beers otherwise would have been 5*. Nice local customers.
