About This Pub

Ah, the Queen Bess Public House – it's one of those spots that really sticks in your mind for its old-school charm. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this great traditional feel with an open fire that warms you up on a chilly evening, and the drinks are priced just right, making it a wallet-friendly choice for a casual night out. I love how they've got this no mobile phones policy; it's like a gentle nudge to put the tech away and actually engage with the people around you – revolutionary, as one reviewer put it! That said, it's not for everyone; a couple of folks mentioned it coming across as a bit aggressive if you're not prepared, and the quiet atmosphere might leave you wanting more excitement if you're in the mood for something upbeat. Overall, if you're after a relaxed pint and some genuine conversation, it's a gem, but it pays to know what you're getting into beforehand.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a lovely, traditional pub with a cosy open fire that makes you feel right at home.
  • The no mobile phones policy is a refreshing change, encouraging proper chats and connections over a pint.
  • Drinks are inexpensive, so you can enjoy a few without breaking the bank.
  • The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, ideal for unwinding after a long day.
Cons
  • The strict no mobile phones rule can feel a bit forceful for first-timers, potentially putting some off.
  • It might be too quiet for those after a more lively vibe, as it's not exactly buzzing with energy.
  • With no website, it's tricky to get more info online before heading over.

Thought I'd check to see if you have to put your name in here n guess what it does it automatically through Facebook, so it just shows nate brand talks bollocks n he put his review on here himself as he has a password on his phone! Just proving a point! But yes good pub food atmosphere good people n most importantly great beer, cheers all.
