About This Pub
Ah, The Crown – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a local gem, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, it's got this warm, inviting atmosphere where you can settle in for a chat or catch some live music on the stage; it's especially great if you're up for a game of pool without forking out extra. The drink selection is pretty decent with plenty of drafts to choose from, and when the sun's out, that beer garden with its covered area is an absolute treat for al-fresco sipping. On the flip side, it's a shame they don't have any real ale on tap, which might leave traditionalists wanting more variety, and the opening times can be a tad unpredictable, so planning ahead is key. All in all, it's a welcoming place that does community and entertainment well, making it worth a visit if you're in Scunthorpe and after a straightforward, enjoyable pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is spot on – it's a proper traditional pub with a welcoming vibe that makes you feel right at home, especially with the friendly staff and locals.
-
They've got a cracking selection of draft drinks, including premium lagers and ciders, perfect for a good catch-up over a pint.
-
Live music and events add a fun twist; there's a stage for gigs and even a pool table that's free sometimes, which is brilliant for a bit of friendly competition.
-
The beer garden is a lovely spot when the weather's playing nice, with a covered area so you can enjoy the outdoors without worrying about a sudden shower.
-
Prices are reasonable, making it an affordable choice for a night out, and the staff are always helpful, whether you're planning a party or just popping in for a drink.
Cons
-
It seems they don't offer any hand-pulled cask-conditioned real ale, which might disappoint those who fancy a more traditional brew.
-
The operating hours can feel a bit inconsistent based on what's listed, so it's worth double-checking before heading out to avoid any surprises.

The Crown is an impressive traditional two roomed pub. The comfortable lounge has a stage for live music. The bar has a pool table, and it was free pool when we visited. There is a wide selection of draft drinks, including premium largers and cider. There is no hand-pulled cask conditioned real ale, but there is Tetley bitter, and it was only two pounds a pint. The staff are very welcoming and it is a friendly community pub definitely worth visiting.
Great local with fun & friendly staff!
Come here when I can, nice friendly atmosphere Good staff well priced. Have entertainment on most weekends and always a good time had by all. Unlike a few local pubs you always feel comfortable with the way the locals treat you very welcoming and good value.

When i was there,a ska/reggae act was on SKABURSTuk,,it was a great night, prices not bad, small dancefloor, bar service was quick,,goodnight was had by all
We gave a friend a surprise birthday party there, the staff were very helpful, and the separate dance floor being up a few steps at the back of the room allowed those non-dances to watch, sing along and chair dance. Mixed group of all ages, great music and company makes a great night.
