About This Pub
Ah, Provenance Food Hall, what a lovely find in the heart of Westhoughton! From what I've gathered chatting about places like this, it's clear this spot really shines with its focus on top-quality, locally sourced grub – imagine tucking into a meat platter from the butchers block or indulging in their afternoon tea with homemade scones and treats. Everyone raves about the food being cooked to perfection and the staff being so welcoming and on point, making even a simple lunch feel like a treat. It's got that warm, community feel, especially if you're after something a bit special without breaking the bank. On the flip side, though, it's a shame it's shut on Mondays and some bookings need advance notice, which might cramp your style if you're up for a last-minute jaunt. Still, for pub goers looking for a step up from the usual, it's worth a visit – just pop in during their open hours and you'll see why it's got such glowing feedback. All in all, it's a solid choice for a memorable meal, balancing the good with a few quirks to keep it real.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely top-notch, with locally sourced ingredients that make every dish feel fresh and special – think artisan sandwiches, scones, and even truffle fries that are just divine.
-
Service is warm and attentive; the staff go out of their way to make your visit memorable, whether you're in a large group or just popping in for a quick bite.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for a relaxed outing, blending a cosy food hall vibe with elegant dining options like the butchers block or afternoon tea.
-
It's got some unique touches, like picking your own wine from the shelf and paying corkage, which adds a fun, personal element to the experience.
-
Overall, it's a fantastic spot for quality meals at a moderate price, with high praise from folks who've tried it – you can tell it's a labour of love.
Cons
-
It's closed on Mondays, which means you'll have to plan around that if you're keen for a mid-week treat.
-
Some services, like booking for afternoon tea, require 24 hours' notice, so it's not ideal for spontaneous visits.
-
The hours wrap up fairly early, typically around 5pm, so it might not suit those after a late-night pint or meal.
-
Being a bit more on the premium side, it could feel a tad pricey for everyday outings, especially if you're watching the budget.

Had a late lunch on a Sunday, we opted for some bits from the charcuterie section of the menu to split between 2 and everything was absolutely fantastic. Service was fast, the wait staff were all lovely, attentive and friendly. Can't wait to go back!!
Food, service, everything was great. We decided on a meat platter from the butchers block menu and we weren't disappointed. The wine cellar concept is also great, pick your own bottle from the shelf and pay corkage. We'll be back!
Can't recommend enough; one of the best meals that I've had.
We went for the Butcher's Block evening where you can choose the meat from the butchers below. Excellent value, cooked to perfection and our waiter Jamie made the whole experience.
Had a full breakfast and a French toast. Quality food not usually found in other local eateries. Excellent environment and service.
Food was amazing, atmosphere was great and the staff couldn't do enough for you. We attended in a large group and the food was amazing. I never usually order steak as I am fussy with how it's cooked, but hats off to the chefs! Also, those truffle fries ...devine!
