About This Pub
You know, I had a cracking time at the Prince of Wales the other day, and it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its history – it's been around since 1874 and part of the McMullens family, which means you get that reliable, homely feel. The food is a real highlight; we tucked into some lovely lunches and roasts that were fresh and full of flavour, and the service was spot on, with staff going out of their way to make everything just right, like sorting out a table for a birthday do. It's got this cosy charm with fires crackling away inside and a big garden that's perfect for a sunny afternoon sip, plus it's great for popping in with the dog or hosting a get-together in their private room. On the flip side, though, some corners feel a bit too dark for comfort, so you might end up fumbling for your phone to check the menu, and the prices are a smidge steeper than your average local, which could add up if you're out for a casual night. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after a proper pub experience with good grub and a friendly buzz, but keep those points in mind for the full picture – I'd say it's worth a visit for a relaxed catch-up with mates.

Highly recommend this pub for lunch, so accommodating of my request to be seated at a round table. We had a lovely pre birthday celebration and get together with friends, as the service & food were excellent. A big thankyou to all staff.
A very cosy pub with a good atmosphere. Where we sat it needed a bit more light as we couldn't see the menu without our phones.
Overall, it's a lovely pub.
18Sep2024 Really nice, well-cooked food, served quickly and piping hot. The pub is part of the McMullen's group, so the prices are a tad high, at a satisfactory value.
Lovely food, one of the best we’ve had for a while! Gabby was lovely with a very friendly service. All staff were smiley which we think makes a massive difference. We’ll be back with more family! Thank you :-)
