About This Pub
Ah, The Freemasons – it's one of those pubs that just has that community feel, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's full of friendly faces and a real mix of people, which makes for a great night out with some cracking entertainment like DJs spinning tunes or belting out karaoke. The refurb has given it a fresh, clean look that's spot on, and the outdoor area with the seafood stall sounds like a brilliant spot for a summer pint. Prices are pretty reasonable too, so you won't break the bank. On the flip side, though, the toilets are a letdown – things like missing toilet roll holders and dodgy locks can put a dampener on things. And with no buzz from recent reviews, it might not be as vibrant as it was back in 2022. All in all, it's worth popping in if you're nearby for a relaxed catch-up, but go in with your eyes open to those little shortcomings – it's got heart, but it's not flawless.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming, with a multicultural crowd and familiar faces that make you feel right at home.
-
They've done a cracking job with the refurbishments – the place is clean, modern, and cosy, which really lifts the spirits.
-
There's plenty of entertainment on offer, like DJ sets, karaoke, and even a pool table, keeping things lively and fun.
-
The outdoor seating area is a lovely spot, especially with the seafood stall on weekends, and they've got a good selection of beers at fair prices.
Cons
-
The toilets are a bit of a disappointment – no proper toilet roll holders and tricky door locks that don't quite work as they should.
-
It seems a tad quiet these days with no recent reviews, which might mean it's not as buzzing as it used to be.
-
Operating hours aren't clearly listed, which could leave you hanging if you're planning a spontaneous visit.

Came here the other week with my uncle for a couple of pints and a catch up, our first real catch up since lockdown.
The pub itself has changed massively since I moved from the area but the changes are amazing.
Good to see so many familiar faces too! Looking forward to my next visit.
Absolutely great pub multicultural, very friendly, DJ playing classic and up-to-date music, karaoke and singing acts, dancing, pool tabel nice outside seating area. pub open till 1am when busy, allso seafood stall from Thursday to Sunday
Previously known as The Bricklayers, a nice small cosy bar, now with high tables and chairs. FREE limited car parking spaces out front, outdoor seating area with a Seafood hut by the side open at weekends. With a good selection of Beers.
I don't go to pubs normally but this is my favorite pub in my neighborhood. They have recently refurbished the place so it is very clean. Prices are fare and lady behind bar is absolutely amazing and friendly. Even people who drinks there are friendly (My friend and I going to this pub every other weekend to have couple of drinks) ... Oooh one last thing, they have pool table.... yes that's pub seller for me.. to sums up, clean pub, friendly stuff and locals + pool = 5 star review!
The Freemasons, Great refurb, love the decor but the toilets let it down, no toilet roll holder....... No one likes to use toilet paper that's rolling around the floor whilst trying to hold the door shut with your foot! Door lock doesn't match up with the keep. But the rest of the pub looks great.
