About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about this Premier Inn in West Bromwich – it's one of those places that really grows on you with its warm, friendly atmosphere, where the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, almost like you're catching up with pals over a pint. The food's a proper treat too; think hearty breakfasts and satisfying meals that hit the spot after a day out exploring the nearby shopping centre or country park. On the flip side, though, some rooms have seen better days – you might spot a bit of mould or a wonky fixture here and there, and not every bed or shower is as reliable as you'd hope, which could leave you a tad disappointed if you're after that five-star comfort. All in all, it's a solid choice for a budget-friendly overnight or a quick bite, especially if you're valuing that personal touch from the team, but it's worth keeping in mind those little maintenance hiccups to set your expectations right for a balanced visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and welcoming, like chatting with old mates at the bar, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Rooms are generally clean and comfy, with a good night's sleep on those super-comfy beds, and the showers are spot on when they're working well.
  • The food's a real highlight, especially the breakfast and meals in the restaurant – hearty and satisfying, perfect for kicking off your day or winding down after a long one.
  • It's conveniently located near the New Square shopping centre and Sandwell Valley Country Park, so you can pop out for a wander and then return for a relaxing evening.
Cons
  • Some rooms can feel a bit worn out, with issues like mould in the bathroom or cracks on the walls, which might put a damper on things if you're after a fresh, spotless stay.
  • Not every room lives up to the hype – we've heard about uncomfortable mattresses, weak showers, and even air conditioning that doesn't work, so it might not be ideal for everyone.
  • Parking can be a bit of a faff, with limited spots on site and alternatives that cost a bit, though it's free at certain times, which is a small win.
  • While the overall vibe is good, a few niggles like a toilet that's not quite secure could make you wish for a bit more attention to the finer details.

As an extremely regular visitor to this hotel, I cannot speak highly enough of the staff. They are all very attentive and friendly, and my most regular contact on reception, Leanne, could not be more welcoming, friendly and efficient. My room is always clean and comfortable, with food in the attached restaurant of a good quality. On occasion, the car park can be too busy, but you can usually find a space. I would certainly recommend staying here.

Room was clean but tired, been a few times and worst room we've had, mould in bathroom, toilet hanging off wall, cracks and marks on walls, drain flies - not loads but will be when weather warms up. Definitely not a power shower and roll together uncomfortable mattress. Aircon didn't work either. Hopefully they'll re-do the rooms soon as staff are always friendly and it's in a good location with Tesco and town centre across the road.

We have just returned back to Manchester after a 1-night stay in West Bromwich for family funeral. Firstly, Leanne on reception was so warm and welcoming, we really appreciated her being so accommodating to us. The rooms were very clean, modern and cozy beds! We had a lovely breakfast too in the morning.

Was pleasantly surprised with my stay here after being disappointed by so many other Premier Inns in the last 5 years. It's a fairly new hotel, so the room was quite modern in terms of mod cons. It was clean, the bed was comfortable enough for a great sleep, and the shower had decent pressure. The location is great, right by the main high street and shopping centres. There's a big Tesco within a minute or two's walk, and a petrol station right next door to the hotel. Initial impressions had been worrying as a curtain rail fell off when I went to look out of the window, and the front panel fell off the fitting where I inserted my room key to keep the lights on. These were both easily clipped back on though. The lady on the front desk was very helpful and friendly when I checked in. I'm quite happy I had a good experience, as I live fairly nearby and was just staying here to relax away from the family for a night, so I'm likely to return again. I have to add, I didn't eat at the adjoined restaurant this time, but I have been there many times before, and it's gradually gone downhill. I also didn't use the car park as I was dropped off and picked up nearby.
