About This Pub
Ah, Chickaros in West Bromwich – what a gem for a casual night out with friends! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; imagine tucking into perfectly cooked steaks, zingy dynamite prawns, or a loaded platter that's just bursting with flavour and generous helpings that leave you chuffed. The team there are absolute stars, always on hand with a smile and that personal touch that makes you feel like a regular from day one. And the atmosphere? It's cosy and inviting, with decor and tunes that set a relaxed tone for enjoying your grub. On the flip side, though, it's not without its downsides – the prices can sting a bit, especially if you're planning a big feed, and the neighbourhood might not be the most welcoming spot once the sun sets. Plus, dealing with cash-only payments feels a bit outdated, and the odd noise from nearby can disrupt the calm. All in all, if you're up for solid, tasty eats and don't mind overlooking a few niggles, it's definitely worth a visit – just plan ahead and go with the flow!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – think juicy steaks, crunchy dynamite prawns, and generous portions that leave you feeling well satisfied.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with comfy decor and calming background music that adds to the relaxed vibe.
-
It's great value for money, especially after a long day, with big portions that make it worth every penny.
-
There's a fantastic variety on the menu, from tasty starters like halloumi and nachos to burgers and platters, perfect for sharing with mates.
Cons
-
It can be a bit pricey, so you might want to check your wallet before diving in for a full meal.
-
The area around the venue feels a tad rough, which might put some folks off, especially when heading out at night.
-
They don't take card payments, which is a bit of a hassle in this day and age – cash only, I'm afraid.
-
Sometimes the noise from next door can drown out the music, making it less peaceful than you'd hope.
-
With operating hours that vary and a current status saying it's closed, it's worth double-checking before you pop by.

Recent Reviews
I recently visited Chickaros in West Bromwich and had such a great experience that I had to leave a review. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming service. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely valued as customers.
The food was absolutely delicious, not only did it taste amazing, but the presentation was top-notch too. You can tell they put real care into every dish. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavourful, and served at the perfect temperature.
What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. It was calm, clean, and comfortable no loud music or shouting, just a peaceful setting that made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. It’s the ideal spot for a quiet dinner date or even a catch-up with friends where you can actually hear each other talk.
Pricing is also very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. You definitely get great value for your money.
All in all, Chickaros is a hidden gem in West Bromwich. I’ll definitely be returning soon, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty meal in a pleasant setting with brilliant service.
As we passed by we popped in to experience a new restaurant.
The ambience and decor was warm and welcoming.
We ordered a strawberry & Lime mocktail,
Starter - Mac & Cheese
Main-king prawn stir fry noodles, half chicken with rice.
The quality of the food and portion size didn't disappoint. There were generous amount of king prawns in the stir fry noodles.
The chicken was juicy and tender. The rice was full of flavour.
We thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
Please note - As we ordered the food the waiter informed us they only accept cash or BACS transfer, no card payment. Also informed the nearest cash point to withdraw cash. We were stunned and were above to leave the place, but the manager agreed to accept card payment.
Couldn't believe in this digital age asking for cash in a big restaurant.
I loooooved this place .
The food was new and different tasty and makes you feel full Hamdullah .
The service very polite kind and helpful . The thing i loved most is this place the decoration and the back music they were playing is very comforting and calm .
We had tacos 10/10
Cheetos Parmesan 8/10 too much cheese
Hot shot chicken 8/10 too much cheese also
And chicken burger 7/10 chicken bit dry
Cookie dough pistachio tasty too much sugary 8/10
And sodas which I don’t recommend it’s not fizzy at all .
Over all we loved this place and absolutely will eat here again , highly recommended
Enjoyed the food but a little pricey. Nice deserts. Next doors booming beats were unusual, drowning out the Chickaros tunes. If I'm honest, the area felt a bit rough outside when we left. Staff were lovely but didn't take card payment which is poor.
Value for money! We were hungry after a long day of travelling and ended up at this delicious restaurant. The food portions were big and worth the price. The steaks were perfectly cooked and had plenty of sides that complemented the dish amazingly. The dynamite prawns were crunchy just the way I like. Flavours are spot on! I was so full couldn’t finish the dish. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Quite busy as well.
