About This Pub
You know, chatting about the Premier Inn up in Scarborough's North Bay, it's got that reliable, no-fuss feel that's just right for a seaside getaway. The location is spot on – you're mere minutes from the beach and that grand old castle, making it dead easy to pop out for a wander or a bite. I love how the rooms are kept so clean and cosy, with those powerful showers that really hit the spot after a day of adventuring, and the free Wi-Fi means you can stay connected without any bother. The staff deserve a shout-out too; they're proper helpful and chip in when the going gets tough, which adds a nice touch of warmth to the place. On the downside, check-in isn't always straightforward – it can be a bit of a muddle if you're not from around here – and the restaurant's had its moments with slow service and not everything on the menu being up for grabs. Plus, those parking fees might nibble at your budget more than you'd like. All told, it's a solid choice if you're after somewhere straightforward and comfortable, but it's worth keeping those little niggles in mind for a smoother visit.

We have booked and payed a room for 3 nights. Checkin was horrible. Although no customers were present, eventually after ringing the bell for 15 minutes, a member of staff finally arrived. Unfortunately she was unable to check us in, since she wasn't familiar with checking in overseas-guests. She went away to get her colleague - which also didn't happen for another 10 minutes, when I finally got angry and upset, and went to the bar-cafe staff. they were finally able to check us in after 25 minutes waiting at an empty counter after a long busy day - I already was upset. Nothing but a short "sorry" and thats it.
Two days later we tried to have breakfast. the breakfastroom was probably occupied by 50% but we were told, that they could not get us breakfast, since we should have booked in advance - which noone told us, and no signs or whatsoever informing us about that. The lady told us, that we should have been told - unfortunately the check-in procedure seems to follow no process, so that went wrong as well.
I have stayed at many premier ins privately and on business occations, and all handle the check-in and/or breakfast-bookings different.
After this awful expierience without any kind of compensation (free breakfast or even a wifi-code or whatsoever would have shown some interest in customer-awareness) I will definitely change my mind about staying at Premier Inn ever again internationally. Room was OK but thats about it.
Update: Also sent an inquiry to the guest relations team who promised to respond within 5 days: surely never happened. Seems as guests are not the focus of this company :-)
Update2: a couple of days later, Premier Inn finally got back to me clarifying the issues and offered compensation. After a bit of effort from my side, this did happen. updated the review from 1 to 2 stars. still wouldn't need that expierience.
Hotel is a new Premier Inn so very comfy. Issue was with the meal deal. Over half the evening menu not available. Only 1 chef so mains took 45 minutes to an hour. One of the receptionists put on an apron and went to help in the kitchen - well done! The two waitresses were chalk and cheese : the taller tried her best to service the entire restaurant whilst the shorter did absolutely nothing apart from talk to the lady on reception all night.. Breakfast was fine, a different team of hard working staff.
Okay as hotels go. Food is okay, vegan options, good allergen info. Staff works very hard. Comfy bed. Good shower. Quiet room, spacious, but very warm at night.
Short walk from the beach.
Beware this is paid parking.
We visited Scarborough during half-term & found the location of this premier inn perfect.
The room was clean & as expected.
You can have breakfast & dinner downstairs in the hotel which is very handy. We had dinner the first evening & the service was excellent. Meals arrived quickly & were lovely. Breakfast is self service with the cooked & continental section. We found it all very tasty. The chef will also cook your eggs to order & does offer vegan options.
All of the staff were extremely friendly, helpful & attentive but a special shout out to Liz who was amazing.
Highly recommend here. We are already looking to book again.
This hotel is very usefully located a short walk from the seafront. It's also right next door to the water park. We had a very warm welcome and could check in at 3 pm.
Our room was spotless and really comfy. The bathroom was lovely with an amazing shower, which was hot and powerful! The bed was really comfortable with a good duvet.
Make sure you turn on the fan system at night. Otherwise, you won't get in any fresh air.
The parking is chargeable during the day, although free during the winter months.
