About This Pub

Ah, Premier Inn Rugby North – it's one of those places that feels like a trusty old mate, you know? Tucked away near the M6 and close to Rugby town, it's got that straightforward appeal for anyone popping in for a night or two. I have to say, the beds are an absolute treat; they're so comfy you'd be tempted to snooze in a bit longer, and with free Wi-Fi and parking sorted, it's dead easy to settle in. Plus, the adjoining Brewers Fayre means you can grab a bite without venturing out, which is brilliant for a relaxed breakfast or evening meal. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – some rooms can turn into saunas without proper air con, and I've heard tales of plumbing woes or bits and bobs that need a good fix, like showers that barely trickle or hair dryers that cut out at the worst times. A few folks mentioned dodgy smells or chilly returns after being out, which isn't ideal when you're looking to unwind. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're not fussed about the odd hiccup and want good value near the action, but if you're seeking something more polished, you might want to weigh up the options first. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.1, it's clear plenty of people have had a positive experience, so give it a go and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The beds are super comfy, making it easy to get a great night's sleep after a long day.
  • Free parking and Wi-Fi are a real bonus, especially if you're driving in from nearby areas like the Ricoh Arena.
  • Rooms come with handy touches like tea and coffee facilities, and everything's kept clean and tidy.
  • The location's spot on, just outside Rugby and not far from attractions, so it's convenient for a quick getaway.
  • Staff can be brilliant – some reviews highlight helpful folks like the receptionist who really go the extra mile.
Cons
  • Some rooms can get uncomfortably hot without air conditioning, which might leave you relying on a dodgy fan.
  • Maintenance isn't always up to scratch, with issues like broken hair dryers, stuck plugs, or low water pressure in the shower.
  • You might run into unpleasant smells or cold spots if the heating's playing up.
  • Noise from other guests can be a nuisance, as one person mentioned someone banging on their door late at night.
  • Accessibility features vary, and things like the lift not being up to code could be a hassle for some.

It is ok, beds are comfortable and the shower was hot. Hair dryer kept cutting out and some idiot opposite us was lumping into our door at 1am so we had to tell them to shut up. Also the room was crazy hot so we had put a clapped out fan on for the night. Needs air conditioning in room 35. Nice that the windows have double layers for noise I assume but we had to keep it wide open all night to breath because it was so hot.

Room was clean and spacious. Receptionist Chloe was awesome. Plumbing needed attention as the plug in the sink was stuck (couldn't wash teeth - had to spit into the bath) Water pressure for the shower was a drizzle. Lift was unusable as not up to code.

Room did have a strong und unpleasant smell. Heating not working as it should with the room being very cold on return. Parts inside the room are broken (see pictures) and not well maintained. I don’t mind the interior being older as long as well taken care of which is not the case here. Check-in was not possible on arrival because of the system being down. However the way it was handled was not professional. The 2 ladies at reception were left alone with no help. The hotel chain seems to miss a clear procedure for such a case and the employees have to manage all on their own.

We’re no newbies to premier inns but I have to say this was the worst one we’ve been to. We booked this hotel as it was only a 30 minute (ish) drive from Crufts and at a reasonable price. This hotel doesn’t offer accessible wet rooms which is a shame, it only offers lowered baths but to book in a hotel with a wet room was an additional £15 per night for us so we made do. We weren’t allowed to check in an hour early despite the room being ready (which was confirmed by reception) which seemed a little silly to us as we just sat in the car park for an hour instead of occupying an empty room. Numerous work vans were parked in the limited disabled bays without blue badges and the parking rules were not enforced by the staff. The hotel room was somewhat clean but had numerous stains down the walls that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned at all. The room itself was very small considering it was an accessible room. I barely had space to turn my wheelchair around which made the stay quite difficult. The mattress was very old and sunken in the middle so getting out of the bed as a disabled person was made increasingly difficult. It was very uncomfortable as well. The worst part for us though was the noise. You could hear the conversations of everyone in the corridors, in the rooms next door and even the rooms upstairs. The TVs from other rooms and even footsteps meaning it was a very restless 3 nights of disturbed sleep. Unfortunately, the hotel was the most disappointing part of our trip and I wouldn’t use this specific Premier Inn again if I can avoid it.

Ideal location, easy to find with a brewers fayre adjoining so no walks across car park for breakfast. Bed is so comfortable I didn't want to get up. USB port next to the bed for phone charging. Everything clean and tidy.
