About This Pub

You know, I recently popped into the Premier Inn at Great Yarmouth Seafront, and it's got that classic reliable feel you'd expect from the chain – think clean, cosy rooms with all the essentials like a decent shower and free Wi-Fi, perfect for unwinding after exploring the beach or nearby attractions. The location's an absolute winner, right on the seafront with easy access to the Pleasure Beach and even some cracking sea views from certain rooms, which really adds to the holiday vibe. The staff are top-notch too, always cheerful and helpful, making check-in a breeze and sorting out any little requests without fuss. On the flip side, though, I have to mention the air con can be a right pain; a few mates mentioned it didn't cool things down properly, leaving rooms uncomfortably warm, especially on hotter days. And while the free parking's a treat, the restaurant fell a bit flat for some – not quite up to the usual Premier Inn standard, so you might fancy venturing out for a bite instead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back break by the sea, but keeping an eye on those temperature issues could make for a smoother visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The rooms are spot-on for a good night's rest – clean, comfortable, and with handy amenities like free Wi-Fi, tea and coffee facilities, and a powerful shower.
  • Location is brilliant, right by the seafront and just a short stroll from Great Yarmouth Beach and the Pleasure Beach, making it ideal for a seaside getaway.
  • Free parking is a real bonus, especially with plenty of spaces available, and the staff are always polite and welcoming, ready to help with anything from bookings to room requests.
  • Some rooms offer lovely sea views, which can make your stay feel that bit more special, especially if you're lucky enough to spot seals or enjoy the coastal vibe.
Cons
  • The air conditioning can be a bit unreliable, leaving rooms feeling stuffy and hot, which isn't ideal after a long day or drive.
  • The restaurant doesn't quite live up to expectations, with some folks finding it below the usual standard for a Premier Inn, so you might want to look elsewhere for meals.
  • Little niggles like only having two cups in family rooms or needing to book a table for breakfast can add a touch of frustration to an otherwise smooth stay.
  • With windows sealed shut, there's not much fresh air circulating, which might bother you if you're sensitive to warmer temperatures.

Problem is the AC in the room, I arrived late after a 7 hour drive to find the general temperature in the hotel to be hot. In my room the external window was sealed with sticker informing me that there is a cool stream of air provided, from where I had no idea. There was a control on the wall purporting to be the control for an AC unit. After following simple functions of switching on, setting temp, setting fan control the unit proceeded to make the noise of a cistern filling with water. That's all it managed - no cooling stream of air. As it was late I gave this rattling bag of junk the benefit of doubt to see if along with the noise it could generate a cool stream of air. It failed it was now late. I stayed the night in the hope that the sea breeze would lower the building temperature - no it was sweltering - I use premier Inn often and rubbish AC is the common fault

The room was clean and everything worked as it should do in there. We were able to park easily on the car park as there were a good amount of allocated spaces. Check-in was very smooth. It was very useful to have sugar/tea/milk stored near reception for customers to help themselves to (other premier inns I have stayed in don't always have this and it's more time consuming having to ask people at reception, especially as there isn't someone always on there the entire time so it's just much easier if you can get them yourself) The shower was good. Registering the vehicle at the self service desk did not work. When we came to it, there was already another's car registration in the box. We took this out and put our car registration in. It then asked how many days we were staying for - this was a confusing question as we were checking in 30.03.25 and checking out 01.04.25, but we did not know if this would class as 2 or 3 days? We put 3 days to be on the safe side and clicked confirmed but nothing happened. It did not say this had been successful or registered. So I asked the receptionist and they checked for us and no it had not gone through.... Good job I said something because if we had just left it and assumed it had gone through we would probably be receiving a fine! This may be the case for the people who put their car registration in before us too if they did not check with reception. The receptionist did it for us on her computer but she didn't come and take a look at the machines which weren't working properly, and when we checked out 2 days later I took a look at them as we left and they still looked the same, so it doesn't look like these have been fixed at all and no 'out of order' signs have been put them on which is not very good. Breakfast was a let down. Unfortunately there were no blueberry muffins both days, and no pancakes on the first day despite these being listed as being available on the menu. I don't think it was a case of they had some out but had ran out by the time we had breakfast (which was 9am, which is not late considering breakfast is available until 10.30am) I don't think there had been any available the entire time because there were no empty trays for them. Even if there had been some out earlier and they had all gone, then more should have been replenished. I don't think this is very good for the price you are paying to have 2 items just not on the buffet and nothing up to say why or offer apologies. The cooked breakfast was barely hot. The first day it was buffet style and the second day cooked to order. Both of these days everything on it was luke warm except for the sausages which were fairly hot. This effected enjoyment and was disappointing. I have stayed in other Premier Inns where I have had both buffet style and cooked to order breakfasts and they have not been as poor as this. The bed was also not as comfy as previous premier inns I have stayed in, the second day I had a really bad back ache because of this.

A very pleasant stay with our grandchild. Room was good, no problems apart from only 2 cups despite the extra bed. Breakfast was fine, but we had not been told it was best to book a table, so we had to eat our breakfast off a small bar table, which was showing plenty of liquid rings from the night before. We were offered cutlery, but it never arrived and I had to ask for the table to be cleaned. So after finding cutlery and napkins, the breakfast was very good. I do like that one doesn't have to vacate the room until noon, much more relaxing...

I stay in a lot of Premier Inns for work, so I know what to expect. The hotel and rooms were just as expected—clean and comfortable. The location was great, though it’s at the end of the “strip,” where it starts to feel more industrial. However, the restaurant was not up to the usual Premier Inn standard. 1. Upon entering the restaurant for dinner, I stood at the desk and was ignored by a staff member who was not on the phone but just looking at the computer. A simple “I’ll be with you in a minute” would have been nice! 2. When I asked for a table, I was told they were fully booked and that there were issues with their system. However, the restaurant wasn’t even half full. I understand reservations, but when we walked by an hour later, it was still just as empty. The staff member was quite rude, so we didn’t question it and chose to eat elsewhere. 3. At breakfast, we were seated by a staff member who was on the phone the entire time—not exactly a warm welcome. 4. The hot food was lovely, but the serving area was messy. 5. A staff member cleared dirty plates and then proceeded to refill the bread basket with her hands instead of using tongs.- not hygienic! 6. Juice cups were covered in toast crumbs because the toasters were placed above them—perhaps they should be placed under the juice section instead. 7. The cold food selection looked disappointing compared to other Premier Inns. Having it placed on tables with chairs behind didn’t help the presentation. 8. The trolley holding fresh pastries was placed to the side of the kitchen, but dirty dishes were stacked on top of it. The plastic tubs containing pastries had their lids half on, half off—not the most hygienic setup. I usually love staying at Premier Inns, but I won’t be rushing to book this one again. While the hotel and rooms were great, the restaurant and its staff really let it down.

It was a lovely clean hotel to stay in, staff were polite, welcoming and very helpful when booking meals and needing room cleaned. Nice free car park with plenty of space close walk up the coast to the pier and arcades. Our room had sea view one day we got sea wild seals on the beach, room was clean warm, comfy bed and amazing shower. No noise heard and free WiFi was very good. We ate in the beefeater connected and food and variety of choice was fab but the only weak point was they never seemed to have enough staff and service was quite slow. The meal deal offer was amazing value for money and was helpful when we didn’t want to go out for meals
