About This Pub

You know, when I think about Popzone, it's got this infectious energy that's all about cheesy pop hits and vibrant cocktails, making it a brilliant spot if you're after a proper knees-up with your group. The website paints it as the go-to place for birthdays, hen parties, or even a wild stag do, with drink packages that sort out the fun without any hassle – sounds like a winner for those late-night escapades. But, on the flip side, from the recent chatter, it's not all smooth sailing; some have had a tough time getting in due to the door staff being a bit heavy-handed, and once you're inside, it can feel like a sardine tin, which isn't ideal for everyone. Still, with an overall solid reputation, it's worth giving it a go if you're in the mood for a singalong, just maybe plan ahead and keep expectations in check to avoid any letdowns. All in all, it's a mixed bag, but that's the beauty of these places – they keep things real.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is absolutely buzzing with pop anthems and colourful cocktails, making it a right laugh for a night out.
  • It's spot on for special occasions like birthdays or hen and stag dos, with packages that keep things easy and extra fun.
  • The music and vibes get top marks from some visitors, turning an ordinary evening into a proper highlight.
Cons
  • Door staff can be a bit of a nightmare, refusing entry without clear reasons, which has left a few folks feeling frustrated.
  • It gets overcrowded quickly, leading to uncomfortable situations like getting elbowed in the crowd.
  • Service from management has had some shocking moments, with reports of rude attitudes that put a dampener on the night.
  • Only open two days a week, which might limit your options if you're planning a spontaneous get-together.

Its just re opened under new management. We were celebrating my colleagues birthday. So we have just walked across from Kipsies bar and waited in line to get in , there were 3 door people , the woman omg first thing that she said was your all not coming in , so i ask Why ? She wouldn’t answer, so i asked again and still no response. Turns out it was mistaken identity and then they let us in , to pay £5 each entry fee, really put a downer on the night Then my colleague goes and orders a drink , they order a jug and the barman gives us no glasses , she then asks for some glasses he gives her 1 , so we end up drinking out the jug no straws nothing I know its just reopened but come on and sort the girl out on the door

I have been to this bar numerous times in my 20 years of being out and always had a good time but recently it has gone down hill!! Twice in the last 3 months I have come here and been refused entry!! Never in my life have I been refused entry for being too drunk anywhere!! The first time it was one of my friends (in a group of around 10 people) who has adhd so is hyperactive but doesn't really drink so was in no way 'too drunk' to get in and we didn't have a problem anywhere else afterwards, then last night my friend and I were turned away because we were laughing at a message we had received on a group chat and apparently this makes us 'too drunk' to get in!! The door staff really do need looking at as the place is going to go out of business or maybe people just need to look miserable to get in?!!

It was ok here. But to overfilled on the weekend me and my wife got elbowed in the head quite annoying. Music was good. Don't know if I'd go back.

Absolutely shocking service and behaviour from “management” here. We were told by bar staff numerous times where to leave our coat. At the end of the night we were refused excess to our coat, absolutely rude attitude from the “manager” who told us his name was Phil Smith whilst laughing. We then got pinned up the wall by the bouncers… all because we wanted our coat back. We were told they didn’t have time to check the cameras etc when we were told to put our belongings in there. It took for the police to arrive for us to retrieve our coat back. Actually, to get the coat back we were approached by the manager who made us delete all videos of the staff aggressively pinning us against the wall before letting us have the coat in question back. Absolutely questionable behaviour from all aspects. I will never be returning again.
