About This Pub

So, chatting about Poets Corner in Nottingham, it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local haunt – you know, the kind where you can pop in for a pint and end up having a great chat. From the reviews, the staff stand out as being dead welcoming and on the ball, serving up lagers that are spot on every time, which is always a winner if you're a beer enthusiast. It's buzzing with a loyal crowd, especially football fans gearing up for matches, and the atmosphere has that fun, old-school energy with things like a pool table to keep things lively. Prices are fair too, so it's easy on the wallet for a night out. On the downside, it's not the place if you're looking for something a bit more upscale or hip – it's all about that straightforward, community feel. All in all, if you're after a relaxed spot for good company and a solid drink, I'd say give it a go; it's got that genuine pub spirit that's hard to beat.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • They keep their lagers in top form – fresh and fantastic, which is a real treat for anyone who loves a good pint.
  • It's got that classic old-school charm, with a lively atmosphere perfect for chatting with locals or grabbing pre-match drinks.
  • Prices are reasonable, so you can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about the cost, making it great value for money.
Cons
  • It might not suit those after a more modern or trendy spot, as it's unpretentious and aimed at the traditional crowd.
  • Without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the latest details online, which could be handy for planning a visit.

Went there for pre-match drinks before Forest v FFC. Good atmosphere in an old fashioned boozer. :-)

This pub is not pretentious and will not appeal to a young and trendy crowd, which is what is great about it. It serves its community with impartiality and hard work, seeking to give its customers what they want.

Old school boozer which is lots of fun. Has a local loyal football crowd (Nottingham forest) standard beers bottles cans at reasonable prices. Locals are friendly and up for chatting! The pool table was on free play when I popped in and I had a knock with a couple of the locals. Highly recommended if you like your old school boozers. It’s on the outskirts by the forest ground. 🍻 ⚽️ 🎱
