About This Pub
Ah, Barley Twist – what a little gem it is, tucked away near Nottingham station. I've got to say, every time I pop in, I'm impressed by the fantastic array of beers on offer; it's like a treasure trove for anyone who loves a good craft ale or a natural wine. The staff are just lovely, always up for a natter and quick to suggest something new, which makes the place feel so welcoming. Downstairs in that rustic cellar, it's dead cosy – ideal for catching up with mates over a pint. And if you're dashing off on a train, the live departures board is a clever touch that saves you from rushing. They've got some cracking events too, like those live drawing sessions or the vinyl nights, which add a fun twist to the evenings. On the flip side, it's easy to walk past the small front door if you're not paying attention, and it does get bustling on busier nights, so you might have to jostle for a spot. Still, overall, it's a solid spot that does craft beer proud, and I'd recommend giving it a go if you're in the area – just keep an eye out for those takeaway deals to make it even better value.

-

Cons
-
The entrance is a bit tucked away and easy to miss if you're not looking closely, so you might walk right past it the first time.
-
With its popularity, it can get quite busy, especially on evenings or during events, which might mean a wait for a seat or a table.
-
The space is on the smaller side, so if you're after a quiet corner on a packed night, it could feel a tad cramped.

Really enjoyed our visits here, excellent selection of beers. Staff are friendly and helpful, it's a lovely atmosphere. Tried their hunters pork pie which was fab and excellent value.
First time I'd been in here. Pub with a small front so can easily be missed.
Very pleasant personal atmosphere and really good range of drinks.
Great bar with fab selection of beers. I expect nothing less from Castle Rock. Lovely atmosphere with some seating on ground level and then lots more downstairs. Great location if you're waiting for a train. They even have a live departures board.

Great addition in Nottingham beer places. First time visitor. Great location very next to station, welcoming vibes, attentive staff and good service. Excellent range of craft ales on taps and more verity in fridge. Plenty of seating on main floor and in basement.
Brilliant little place for a drink. Our first stop every time we get off the train, also good while waiting due to its proximity to the train station and the departures board on a tv Great selection on ales and lovely atmosphere. More space downstairs although I never had a look.
