About This Pub

Ah, Pine Tree Farm in Bolton – it's one of those places that just feels like a reliable go-to for a relaxed meal out. I've got to say, the carvery is a real highlight; think tender meats, heaps of veg, and those buttery Yorkshires that make you want to come back every week. It's got that family vibe down pat with an indoor play area, so you can actually enjoy your pint or catch up with mates without chasing toddlers around. The staff are gems too, always cheerful and ready to lend a hand, which really adds to the warm atmosphere. Plus, with affordable prices and perks like easy parking and EV charging, it's super convenient for a quick stop after a day out. On the flip side, though, there have been a few grumbles about some dishes not being up to scratch – like dry chicken that leaves you wishing for a bit more freshness. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together; just keep an eye on what you're ordering, and you'll likely have a cracking time. If you're in the area, I'd definitely give it a try – you might just find your new favourite spot!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on, especially the carvery with its juicy meats, crispy roast potatoes, and those massive Yorkshires – it's a proper treat for a Sunday roast any day of the week.
  • It's brilliantly family-friendly, with an indoor play area that keeps the little ones entertained while you relax, making it ideal for a hassle-free outing.
  • The staff are top-notch; they're always friendly and helpful, going the extra mile to make sure everyone feels welcome, like that server Charlie who was brilliant with kids.
  • Prices are really reasonable, so you get great value for money, whether it's a bargain breakfast or one of their special deals.
  • They've got handy facilities like disabled access, free WiFi, EV charging, and a car park, which makes popping in easy and convenient.
Cons
  • Some dishes can be a bit hit or miss with quality; I've heard complaints about dry, overcooked chicken that makes you wonder if everything's as fresh as it could be.
  • It might not always live up to expectations on busier days, where things could feel a tad rushed or not quite as polished as you'd hope.

Had a breakfast to go from your favourite "Too Good To Go" App. What a bargain, not only price wise £3.33 but the quality and quantity of food cannot be faulted. (This was a collected meal on offer and not dine inside the premises.) A full English breakfast - literally everything you would find in a cafe in a box and hot too!! If I am ever in the area I would definitely try and have a sit in breakfast.

I really am wondering whether the ingredient of food offered in this establishment is fresh or frozen! Chicken is dry, the coating always dry and overcooked! They really need to up their game.

Perfect place to for families. Clean, welcoming and affordable. The chef running the carvery went above and beyond to cater for us. And had the patience of a saint. Great service. And the Turkey and stuffing, Yorkshire pudding wrap was an absolute culinary delight!! Never had a bad experience here. Highly recommend.
