About This Pub
Ah, Penny Black in Burnley – it's one of those spots that really stands out for its welcoming feel and lively vibe, isn't it? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this posh edge that makes it a step above the usual local haunts, and the staff seem like absolute stars, managing to keep things running smoothly even when the place is buzzing with energy. The beer garden is a proper gem, especially for those themed events or live music nights, which sound like a blast and add a real community spirit to the place. On the flip side, though, a few folks have had gripes about the pricing – it's generally fair, but getting charged differently for the same round can put a dampener on things, and there've been mentions of extra fees that feel a bit sneaky. Plus, during peak times, you might find yourself waiting in line for the loos, which isn't ideal when you're trying to enjoy the night. All in all, it's worth popping in if you're nearby, just go in with your eyes open and maybe keep an eye on that bill to keep the evening hassle-free.

It can feel pricey at times, with some extra charges popping up that aren't always clear, like unauthorised tips.

The toilets can be an issue during busy events, with queues building up if not all are working properly.
-
No specific opening hours are listed, which makes it tricky to plan a visit without checking in advance.

Good reasonably priced bar, looks quite posh. Staff worked way through customers and considering how loud it was were very accurate. I'd go again 🤓
I'd seen some previous negative comments about being ripped off for drinks prices. But I thought venue was perfect for our friends 50th. Staff were great and beer prices spot on
First visit here, I was very surprised how big the venue actually is, & has a lovely beer garden. 🍺 & 🎶 here to support the Charity Event with Rude Boy's Band, fantastic music, atmosphere, friendly staff. Always lot's of themed events & functions going on here, follow page on FB.
Random pricing and expensive - charged different each time for same round.
Two out of three ladies toilets working so large queues at busy live music event.
Great atmosphere but charged different prices for the same drink every time? I didn't authorise any tips and been charged as much as £1.00 extra for a pint in the same day for the same item.
