About This Pub
Ah, Pendle Witch in Lancaster – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? I've heard from folks that the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're a regular or just popping in for a quick bite. The beer garden is a standout, especially on a nice day, giving you that outdoor space to chat and unwind without the hustle and bustle. They've nailed the events too, with quiz nights and live sports that draw a good crowd and add to the lively atmosphere. The food's another winner; it's hearty pub fare with some cracking specials that won't break the bank, and it's particularly ace for students looking for deals. On the flip side, they've had a couple of temporary shutdowns for updates, which might throw a spanner in the works if you're set on going. And while most reviews are glowing, there's that odd quirky complaint that hints it's not flawless, but honestly, it adds to the charm. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as it's got that warm, inclusive feel that makes you want to come back for more.

Lovely pub. Well frequented by local people and good offers for the student population. Lovely bar staff ..especially Trin 😉
Beer garden is pretty amazing, lots of table and spaces for a pub. Toilets can be sexist as girls cant be wizards
The steak was very good.
The bar staff friendly and professional.
I was only visiting on a day out back to my student days of ‘75 so only ate.
There were people who seemed to ‘regulars at their local’ and that made the atmosphere less sterile for an early evening midweek visit in what otherwise would have been an empty pub.
Splendid place for Pub grub and atmosphere. Lots of specials every day and alternating games and events. Such as, Chicken specials on Wednesday and Free Pool (billiards) night.
The staff were friendly and the food was excellent.
Historic building with lots of character and a big beer garden outside with tables and booths to sit. Good place to come for food, drinks and live sports with friends or family. The food menu is very diverse and the prices are quite good for what you get. I found the food to be decent quality, good portions and came out quick from the kitchen, would recommend.
