About This Pub
Ah, Our Gracie's – what a lovely find in Rochdale, isn't it? From the reviews, it's clear this place has that special something that makes you want to linger. The friendly atmosphere is spot on, with staff who genuinely make you feel welcome, and they've nailed the beer selection with a great range of real ales and hand-pulls that go down a treat. Those Sunday open mic sessions sound like a proper laugh, adding a fun, community feel without any entry fee, which is always a bonus. On the flip side, it's a tad hard to track down online since there's no website, and the hours are only from 1 PM onwards, so it might not suit if you're up early. Still, it's a refreshing change from the usual chains, and if you're in the area, I'd say give it a go – you'll likely leave with a smile and a story or two.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of beers, including real ales, hand-pulled options, and even things like Thornbridge Ginger bitter – perfect for ale enthusiasts.
-
Live music and open mic sessions, especially on Sunday afternoons, create a fun and lively vibe that's free to enjoy.
-
The staff are caring and considerate, going out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time.
-
It's a refreshing alternative to the big chain pubs, with well-kept beers and even tasty extras like pork pie options that add a nice touch.
Cons
-
It's a bit tricky to find online since there's no website or claimed presence, so you might need to rely on word of mouth or directions.
-
The opening hours are limited to afternoons and evenings (from 1 PM to 11 PM), which could be a miss if you're after a morning pint.
-
With such a small number of reviews out there, it hasn't built up much buzz yet, so it might feel under the radar compared to busier spots.
