About This Pub

Ah, O'Neill's in Liverpool – it's got that proper Irish pub charm that just draws you in, doesn't it? From what I've seen, the food is a real highlight; folks rave about the mixed grills and how it's all so tasty and affordable, perfect for a casual bite or a full-on feast. The atmosphere is buzzing too, with live music, sports on the screens, and that big energy that keeps everyone coming back for more – I can imagine it being a brilliant spot for catching up with mates over a pint. The staff often get a thumbs-up for being friendly and on top of things, even on busy nights, which makes you feel right at home. But, let's be honest, it's not all roses; there are a few grumbles about dirty glasses and the place getting a bit messy, and some have had run-ins with less than helpful servers or disappointing food. Still, with an overall solid rating, it's worth a go if you're after a good time in the heart of Liverpool – just keep your expectations in check for the occasional off day.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think hearty mixed grills and sausages that are to die for, all at great value for money.
  • Fantastic atmosphere with live music, events, and a buzzing energy that makes for unforgettable nights out.
  • Staff are generally friendly and efficient, even when things get hectic, which really adds to the warm Irish welcome.
  • A cracking selection of drinks with plenty of offers, and they handle crowds well most of the time.
Cons
  • There have been some complaints about hygiene, like filthy glasses and sticky floors, which can put a dampener on things.
  • Occasional reports of obnoxious staff behaviour, though it seems to be the exception rather than the rule.
  • The food and service can sometimes fall short, with one review calling it atrocious, so it might not always hit the mark.

My god this place really has gone to the dogs. Filthy glasses, obnoxious staff, absolutely atrocious food. First few drinks we ordered were fine. On my second trip up to the bar on the sticky floor we ordered food and drinks. Drinks arrived in filthy glasses. Gave up trying to get the attention of the staff to complain but they were busy on their phones, so left it. When the food arrived it was a burnt mess on the plate. Managed to get the attention of the staff but nothing but shoulder shrugs and sarcastic smiles. As for the toilets......they should come with a health warning. The best way to describe this place would be a sub-standard Wetherspoons. Please, do yourself a favour and stay well away.

Came on a very busy Thursday. Ollie & Vicky were rushed off their feet but were very pleasant considering how busy the venue was. Another pair of hands would of been great but never the less it wont stop me returning as a regular customer to this wonderful pub.

Came here today for Easter lunch with my mother and I have to say this was the best mixed grill I have had in years! Those sausages are to die for and the char grill taste on the meat was amazing. Lovely kind bar staff and really made our day. Great portion and amazing food and atmosphere. Thankyou 😍

Great pub with a great atmosphere. We went to see a fabulous local band called Trilogy. They were amazing! My 81 year old mother never stopped dancing all night. Great variety of drinks and plenty of staff, so didn't have to wait to order drinks long at the bar. Felt really safe in there.
