About This Pub
Ah, Old West Quay Brewers Fayre – it's one of those reliable haunts in Hartlepool that you can count on for a good time without any fuss. From what I've gathered, the food really hits the mark; folks rave about the carvery on Sundays, with its succulent meats and all the trimmings, and the new lunch deals are an absolute bargain at just £5 for mains. It's brilliant for families too, with that indoor soft play area keeping the little ones happy while you enjoy a chat and a bite. The staff stand out as well – they're efficient and genuinely warm, like Acacia and Michelle who got top marks for their service even when things picked up. On the flip side, if you're a beer lover, you might find the selection a tad underwhelming, with not much variety on offer. And let's be honest, it's got that typical chain pub feel, so it won't wow you with anything unique, but it's steady and dependable for a casual meet-up or a family meal. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after good value and a friendly atmosphere, just keep in mind it might not be the place for an adventurous night out.
Pros and Cons

-
It's super family-friendly, boasting an indoor soft play area that's perfect for keeping the kids entertained while you relax.
-
You might get a lovely view of the marina from a window seat, adding a nice touch to your meal.
-
Even when it's busy, the service remains efficient and the team handles things with a smile.
Cons
-
The beer selection is a bit limited, which could disappoint if you're after a wide range of ales.
-
It can get quite busy at times, potentially leading to waits, even though the staff do their best.
-
As a chain pub, it doesn't have that unique, local vibe – it's more straightforward and reliable than anything special.

We visited today, nice and early and it was quiet but started to get busy quite quickly. We were seen to by Acacia in the soft play area who was very friendly, efficient and and attentive. Then when ordering our food and drinks we were served with a smile by Michelle, who efficiently checked for any food allergies and was very helpful. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was comfortable, clean and lively. The refillable cappuccino was a bonus too. All in all, very nice and we will definitely be back.
Despite evident understaffing, the restaurant provided wonderful service, delivering food promptly and accurately. The food quality was exceptional, and the manager's dedication to customer satisfaction was outstanding. The overall experience deserves nothing less than 5 stars!
Carvery was absolutely beautiful, the gentlemen serving it is so welcoming and funny, makes people feel at home. Fish and chips are very good as well.
A seat by the window offered a great view of the marina. Lexi said her Haddock and Chips were exceptional. Samie doubled up on her Smothered Chicken and emptied her plate. My 7oz Gammon Steak hit the spot. Friendly staff with great service. Love it here.
Went for a lunch with a friend to talk business. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was better than I expected from a chain pub. Standard pie but well cooked and got throughout with nice chips and gravy. Beer selection was limited even though they had hand pulls (empty) but as only stayed for one the Tetleys was adequate.
Nice looking bar and eating areas with good character, not too busy considering it was the last weekday before Christmas.
Nice venue on the near side of Hartlepool Marina, though that would be more important in summer as you could sit outside and admire the lovely views.
Overall, very pleased with my visit and I would be more than happy to go again for a lunch or a pint.
