About This Pub
You know, I had a wander into the Nottingham Knight the other week, and it's got this lovely, welcoming vibe that's just right for a laid-back afternoon or evening out. The chargrilled food steals the show – think fresh, flavoursome meals that pair perfectly with a pint, and it's clear why folks rave about it for family gatherings or watching the footie. They've really nailed the amenities too, with a beer garden for sunnier days and being super accommodating for dogs and groups, which makes it feel like a proper community hub. On the downside, service isn't always spot-on; I've heard a few stories of staff being a bit preoccupied or meals not coming out as expected, which can take the edge off. Still, it's a solid choice if you're nearby, especially for those Euros matches – just keep in mind it might not be the most buzzing spot on quieter days, but overall, it's worth a punt for the good bits.

Always had a good experience here but the visit today wasn't our best experience. Started off with the staff on the personal phones behind the bar while we were waiting to be seated. The same member of staff didn't take our drinks order and others came in after us and had drinks orders taken. Once ordered the fish was burnt and had a horrible taste. This was changed for a fresh one but left one person in the group eating after the others had finished.
Just had a shocking meal! Sent squid starter back as was like warm, only for it to be microwaved & came back like a rubber tyre. To add insult, we were then charg3d for someone's drink. Very poor, never coming back.
Went for lunch and selected fish & chips and ice cream from the great value lunch menu. I also had 1/2 pint of Guinness to wash it down. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was tasty and reasonably presented. The place was very quiet though I expect it would be busier in the evenings being next door to a Premier Inn. Typically furnished for a large chain pub and reasonably comfortable.
Just a couple of minor negatives to mention. The peas weren't great and the tartare sauce cup could do with being a larger diameter to make dipping the fish easier.
I really enjoyed my lunch overall and the lunch menu is great value for money.
My family and I visited on Mother's Day & the food was absolutely outstanding. Red hot, fresh & tasty. Their cask ale was beautiful too (according to my dad). Shout out to Simone, Kirsty & the kitchen team. Gorgeous x
What a wonderful experience! Despite a very busy morning, the service was grand, the drinks grander and the environment grandest! What a cool place to visit, to learn about history and to sip on a nice red or cold beer. I am from Australia, and wish I could bring my family here. 10/10!
