About This Pub

Ah, The Windmill's End – it's one of those neighbourhood pubs that you might just stumble upon and end up making a regular haunt. From what I've gathered, it's got that warm, approachable feel with friendly staff who can make your visit memorable for all the right reasons, especially if you're into a good pint of real ale or cider at a fair price. The beer garden is a proper gem for those warmer evenings, and if you're a sports nut or fancy a bit of a disco on the weekends, it's got the setup to keep you entertained. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – I've heard tales of events not quite matching what's advertised, like expecting karaoke and getting a disco instead, which could leave you a bit miffed. Plus, there are moments when the service dips and things feel a tad off, or the place is quieter than you'd hope on a Saturday night. Overall, though, with a decent rating pushing 4 stars, it's worth a go if you're in the area; just keep your expectations in check and you'll likely have a cracking time swapping stories with friends over a drink.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are often friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking selection of real ales and traditional ciders at affordable prices – perfect for a casual pint.
  • The walled beer garden is a real treat on sunny days, ideal for chilling out with mates.
  • It's a great spot for sports fans with multiple TVs and lively discos on weekends, keeping things buzzing.
  • The pub has a modern, open-plan vibe with covered booths for a bit more privacy when you fancy it.
Cons
  • Some events, like karaoke, don't always live up to the hype and can turn into something else, which is a bit disappointing.
  • There have been a few reports of negative interactions with staff, which can put a damper on your night out.
  • It can feel a tad quiet at times, especially if you're after a lively crowd every visit.
  • With an overall rating of 3.9, it's clear there are mixed experiences, so it might not hit the mark for everyone.

Went to the place today for karaoke it was advertised as karaoke all the posters on the website said so however arrived to a disco were lots of songs being played and then asking for a person to sing one song then back to music if you advertised karoke that means however many singers you have they take turns in singing they are the ones keeping the pub alive this will attract other people to sing after awhile you will have a lot of singers . At the moment people are turning up waiting a long time to sing they say to their friends forget it let's go somewhere else you've lost your clients they won't come back. Dj said he was there from 2pm till 7pm if no singers then by all means play music but tell people what you are doing . Apart from wishing a young girl a happy birthday that was it he never told anybody what was happening through the week or weekend if any shows were on or disco you have a microphone silent they have only been running for 8 weeks i give you all the best I hope it works out for you

We came just to relax, received a lot of negativity from the staff, I'm not surprised why there are 10-15 people sitting in a such huge pub on a Saturday night, please ignore this pub.
