About This Pub

Ah, the New Cotterridge Inn – it's one of those places that has a certain charm about it, tucked away in King's Norton. I have to say, what stands out most is how the staff can make you feel right at home; they're approachable and add a nice touch to the evening, especially in that smart, clean party room that's ideal for a bit of a do. The music and overall atmosphere give it a relaxed, enjoyable buzz that you'd appreciate on a night out with mates. On the flip side, though, I've heard a few tales of management being a bit brusque, which isn't ideal when you're out for a good time. Then there's the hassle with bookings and events – things like dodgy ticket arrangements or food that's more miss than hit and comes at a premium – so it's wise to keep an eye out if you're planning anything special. All in all, it's a decent spot for a pint or a catch-up, but going in with realistic expectations will make for a better visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are genuinely friendly and go the extra mile to make your visit enjoyable, like Chloe who really helped make one evening special.
  • It's got a clean and modern party room that's perfect for gatherings, giving it a fresh and welcoming feel.
  • The atmosphere is lively with nice music, reminding you of a classic British spot that's fun and relaxed.
Cons
  • There have been instances of rude behaviour from management, which can really put a dampener on things.
  • Booking issues, like problems with ticket reservations and payments, might leave you feeling frustrated.
  • The food for events is often overpriced and doesn't live up to expectations, so it's worth thinking twice before committing.

Very rude 'president' of the club who shouted directly in my face in the car park. Halfords garage occasionally share this car parking space and they had positioned my car so that I could easily exit. However, this meant that I was accidentally and temporarily blocking entrance to 'the president of the club', as he called himself. He had absolutely no patience and spoke to me extremely aggressively, making me cry. I would never think about going anywhere near here again, disgusting behaviour from 'the president'.

My friend had reserved 14 tickets for ABBA tribute on 26 Jan, she was assured the tickets would be reserved, no problems and we could pay on the night for them. Anyway she decided to go pick them up on weds, but the club was closed, so, having been told they were definitely saved, she didn't think anymore of it. Imagine our surprise and shock on Saturday night when we were told very rudely by the woman on the door that she wouldn't let us in without a wristband !!! She said she had posted on FB that all tickets shd be collected but when we looked we could find NO posting and neither could she on her own phone !!!! She didn't once say "sorry" her attitude was appalling. I told her how upset my friend was as it was her birthday but she wouldn't budge. We had to quickly call other friends who were en route to cotteridge to tell them the bad news. We had been looking forward to it for a few weeks and had arranged and paid for hotel stays as some girls travelled quite a way. If this is the attitude of the staff there we definitely won't be going again ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

Don't bother booking your event here if you want the venue to cater your function. The food is well below par and very over priced. They charged us £350 and we got less than £100 of food. they stated the rest of the money was used to employ people to prepare it. what a load of rubbish. if you're gonna hire this venue, cater your party yourself. don't waste your money!!
