About This Pub
Ah, the Nelson Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local hideaway in Morley, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, most folks are chuffed with the place, boasting a solid 4.1 rating overall. The drinks selection is a real highlight; they've got a good range that caters to everyone, and when it's on form, it's spot on for kicking back with mates. The atmosphere is another winner – it's warm and relaxed, making it easy to settle in for a chat or a laugh. Plus, the team behind the bar, especially the new manager, come across as genuinely welcoming, which always makes a big difference on a night out. And let's not forget the outdoor areas and those lively events like live music and street food; they add a fun twist that keeps things interesting. On the other hand, it's not all pints and roses – I've seen a few moans about the Real Ale not being up to scratch lately, which could put off the ale enthusiasts among us. The seating can be a bit of a letdown too, with wobbly stools and bright lights that don't always set the mood right. Oh, and parking's a right faff with such a tiny spot, so you might need to factor in a walk from the road. All in all, it's a decent shout for a casual visit if you're nearby, but it's worth going in with your eyes open to those niggles – that way, you can enjoy the good bits without any surprises.

Cons
-
Some drinks, particularly the Real Ale, can be inconsistent and not always up to standard, which is a bit disappointing.
-
The seating isn't always comfortable, with rickety stools and harsh spotlights that can make for an awkward sit.
-
Parking is limited with a small car park, so you might struggle to find a space and end up hunting for spots on the road.
-
The atmosphere can feel a tad flat at times, especially if you're there early when it's not as buzzing.
-
There's a bit of uncertainty around how family-friendly it is, with some suggesting kids should head off earlier in the evening.

Recent Reviews
recently visited the Nelson Arms and had a great experience overall. The drinks were of good quality, and there was a decent selection to choose from, catering to a variety of tastes. The atmosphere was particularly impressive—warm, inviting, and with a relaxed vibe that made it a pleasant place to spend time with friends or enjoy a quiet drink. It struck a nice balance between being lively and comfortable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
Under new management, place as always had a warm welcome, this pub is such a beautiful place. Not sure if food is served. When you enjoying a love pint or a glass of wine, please feel free to ask. New management is a wonderful young lady, who is doing an amazing job. Please help her enjoy her new venture.
If you drink Real Ale, give the Nelson (Morley) a swerve. For most of this year it’s been very good but recently gone seriously down hill. Last week the Adnam’s Ghost Ship was off. At the weekend the Yankee pale ale was on the turn. Perhaps not surprising. The two hand pumps had tatty bits of paper stuck to them with the names of the beers. Very unprofessional and not very good advertising. Very few people in at 9:30 on Saturday night. Loud piped music and no atmosphere.
Went early doors for a drink. Was quite busy, but lacking a bit in atmosphere. Sat on high stools with spot lights over us, not great. The stools were very rickety as well. Very small car park, we were lucky and got the last space. There is road parking close by as well though.
Prices are reasonable, but a bit more than our local down the road 😊
Massive improvement since this was taken over. Really friendly and welcoming.
Great outside seating at both back and front.
Various events including live music and street food vans.
Family friendly BUT feel that children should have to leave by 8pm. Don't think it's appropriate for them to be In a pub after this time.
