About This Pub
So, if you're looking for a lovely spot in Oxford to unwind, Morse Bar really hits the mark with its elegant decor and that warm, inviting vibe – it's like stepping into a stylish hideaway where you can sink into comfy seats by the fireplace and forget the hustle outside. I love how the staff are so friendly and attentive; they make you feel genuinely welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick tea or something a bit stronger. It's got this clever Morse theme that adds a bit of character, which is a nice touch if you're into that sort of thing. On the flip side, it's not the cheapest place – things like pints coming in at £8 mean it might not be ideal for a budget night out, and it does lean towards the more refined end, so if you're after somewhere buzzing and informal, it could feel a tad too polished. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxed catch-up or a special treat, as long as you're okay with paying a premium for the experience.

-
The Morse theme adds a fun, sophisticated touch, especially if you're a fan of the series, and it's perfect for special occasions like afternoon tea.
Cons

Elegant place. Tastefully decorated. Warm and cosy. Great service. Friendly, welcoming, suave staff. Overall, the ambience is stylish, sophisticated and high end.
We brought some American friends to the bar. They were Morse fans. The service was excellent, and we loved the pictures.
A busy bar in the Randolph Hotel. A great spot to enjoy a sit down and a break from the hustle and bustle of Oxford. Great service, comfy seats, a warm fireplace. We had a few pots of tea. A couple of pounds more than you would pay in a cafe but well worth it for the atmosphere and service.
What an absolutely delightful place to have afternoon tea and relax. Excellent service executed by a dedicated and friendly team who are a wonderful credit to the venue

Today's Sunday lunch was an absolute pleasure.
I was welcomed into Alice by Maitre D Damien and served by the friendly and heartwarming Alpha!
The roast beef was cooked to perfection with all the traditional trimmings and was served with lashings of beef jus. All ingredients were freshly cooked and so colourful in contrast.
For a change I had a dessert which was the blackcurrant and champagne sorbet. A little sweet for my taste but preferable to the Szechwan pepper ice-cream also on offer!
Later I retired to the bar in the lobby where I enjoyed a lovely cream tea served by Bar Manager Nick who to my surprise now has blue hair!!
This is still by far one of the few venues in Oxford to enjoy good food, excellent service and a quiet corner to read a few chapters of a book or simply engage in some people watching for a while!
Thanks to Nick, Alpha and the team for your service and hospitality.
The Randolph hotel, another morse themed hostelry in Oxford but at the top end of luxury and expense. Table service only, £8 pound a pint, £300 pound a night ; I'll leave you to imagine the food prices. Well with a visit to experience the ambiance. Don't be put off thinking you have to be a resident or affluent, all reasonably well attired people are welcome.
