About This Pub
Ah, the Moorings in Boothstown – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a breath of fresh air, especially with its prime spot right by the canal. I really appreciate how they've made the most of the location, with loads of outdoor seating that's perfect for a sunny afternoon or watching the boats go by with a cold pint in hand. Inside, it's spacious and nicely done up, with little nooks that make it feel cosy, and they've got all the right touches for families and dog owners, like board games and treats for the furry ones. The food's generally good value, with a solid menu of pub classics, and it's great for catching live sports without any fuss. On the downside, though, the portions aren't always as generous as you'd hope, so you might end up eyeing up seconds, and service can be a bit hit or miss if they're short-staffed, which seems to happen now and then. Overall, it's a solid spot for a casual meet-up with mates, and while it's not without its flaws, the positives definitely outweigh the niggles for a laid-back evening out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The location by the canal is absolutely spot on – perfect for soaking up the sun with a pint and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the views.
-
It's super family and dog-friendly, with thoughtful touches like water bowls for pups and fun extras such as a pool table and board games to keep everyone entertained.
-
They've got a great selection of beers and some tasty pub grub that's reasonably priced, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a meal or a catch-up.
-
The staff are friendly and attentive, and it's a brilliant place to watch live sports with a cosy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
Cons
-
The food portions can be a tad on the small side, so you might find yourself wanting a bit more after your meal.
-
Service can sometimes feel stretched, like when there's only one person handling things, which might mean a bit of a wait during busier times.
-
While recent feedback has been glowing, the overall rating sits at 3.9, suggesting it might not hit the mark for everyone depending on what you're after.

Really nice pub to sit outside next to the canal on a hot day. Lots and lots of seating available too
Nice location near the canal and lots of seating outside while it’s sunny. Inside is spacious with lots of little areas nicely decorated. There’s a pool table and some board games available which I thought was a nice touch. Dogs are welcome too with water bowls etc , Winnie 🐶 loves a nice stroll down there. The staff are friendly , in particular -Sarah who served us was attentive and really helpful when we had questions about some of the food orders. The food was lovely and decent sized portions too. Would recommend for a quick bite or for a family meal if you’re in the area. Reservation recommended as it can get busy on bank holidays or special occasions eg Mother’s Day.
Great pub with a good selection of beers, good food, stunning view to the marina! The staff are friendly and attentive always spoiling my dogs with treats #Sarah😊. Love that they show live sports - perfect for catching the match with friends. Cozy atmosphere and comfortable seating. Highly recommend!
Lovely wine, good lunchtime menu with plenty of choice and reasonably priced. Add starter and desert for £3 each. Good portion sizes. Salmon was beautifully cooked.
Friendly and attentive staff.
Great views of canal too.

Lovely pub right at the side of the Bridgwater canal. Pub is large and airy it is kept clean and tidy, There is a very large outdoor seating area where you can watch the canal boats sail by,The Food was good the portions aren’t huge but are tasty. The only thing that let it down was there was only one member of staff serving behind the bar at Sunday lunchtime, There were more than 6 people waiting to be served whe we arrived and a couple even walked out. Overall it is a good place to enjoy a drink and a meal especially in summer sat outside.
