About This Pub

Ah, the Milton Arms – it's one of those reliable spots on the outskirts of Cambridge that you might stumble upon for a bite and a pint after a day out. I've got to say, when it's good, it's brilliant; their menu is packed with comforting pub classics like juicy burgers and that legendary steak and ale pie, all at prices that won't break the bank – think £10 for a proper meal that leaves you stuffed. It's got that family-friendly charm, with staff who often go the extra mile to make everyone feel at home, especially with little ones in tow, and it's a top choice if you're keen on catching live sports with a crowd. On the flip side, though, it's not without its wobbles; a few mates have mentioned shocking experiences with food that didn't quite live up to the hype, like dishes turning up cold or with unexpected surprises, and the service can sometimes crawl along, leaving you twiddling your thumbs. All in all, it's a solid pick for a laid-back evening if you're in the area, but I'd suggest keeping expectations realistic and maybe checking in on a quieter day to get the best of it.

Service might drag on, with long waits for orders and the odd unavailable menu item, which can put a dampener on things.

It's not always consistent, as a few visits have left people underwhelmed despite the generally positive buzz.

Didn’t even want to put 1 star. Absolutely shocking food. My daughters make your own tacos had hair all in it. The tortillas were burnt. My roast was vile. Sent one before these photos back because it was smothered in gravy (didn’t ask if I wanted gravy) when I say smothered you couldn’t see the food. This one was just vile. Refused to eat and sent back. The only decent thing in that place was the drinks and the one waitress.
The steak and ale pie is TO DIE FOR!!! The best gravy I've had in my life, and the huge meal is only £11! Staff was busy but still very friendly and polite. Definitely coming back for their steak pie again in the future.
Excellent visit yesterday with my family! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Chris was helpful and a pleasure to be served by. Jane was outstanding – she went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, especially with the children. A vast improvement in service! We'll definitely be back thanks to the amazing staff, food, and overall experience.
Food was just disgusting. We waited ages for everything and when it arrived it was almost cold and really really horrible. Many things from the menu was unavailable even such a thing as nachos!! Really stay away
Received emailed from Milton Arms who offered me a voucher of £40 to return to give them another chance however they have never sent the voucher! Not surprised 🙄
Sizzling Pub
Wanted to continue my Cambridge pub reviews therefore I entered this pub.
What a big menu, from pub classics to comfort food. Took us a while to make decisions.
The food we ordered was prepared well, generous portions with very reasonable prices.
We enjoyed everything, from the rump steak to the salmon to the sides. The chips were still hot. The salad was a mix of different vegetables and raw onion.
It has breakfast menu too. I wonder if it's available all day? Or just morning only? It looks interesting too.
Attracted by the champion cup ice cream dessert too. Would that be as massive as the Robin Hood (other Cambridge pub)one?
The staff were working hard to clean the environment. Unfortunately found that the seats are still dirty. Had to line some tissues or a tote bag before sitting.
I will come back to try other things on the menu.
See you soon!
