About This Pub
Ah, Miller & Carter in Ruislip – it's one of those places that really stands out for steak lovers, isn't it? From what I've gathered, they've put in the effort to source and prepare their beef with real passion, earning them that prestigious award, so you're in for a treat with those flavoursome cuts. Folks often rave about the food being delicious and well-served, and it's clear it's a go-to for celebrations, where the staff can be wonderfully polite and attentive. The setting's lovely too, tucked away in a historic building near a country park, making it feel like a proper escape from the everyday. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – there are times when service falls a bit short, like with drinks not being handled quite right or a dirty fork turning up, and the toilets could use a bit more TLC. Still, with such a strong overall buzz and high marks from so many, I'd say it's well worth popping in if you're after a solid meal with mates or family; just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a great time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The steaks here are absolutely top-notch – they've earned that 'Masters of Steak' award, so you know the beef is sourced and prepared with real care and expertise.
-
Service can be spot-on when it's good, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who make you feel right at home, especially for special occasions like anniversaries.
-
It's a welcoming spot for everyone, including those with disabilities, thanks to accessible features that make dining out hassle-free.
-
The location's a charmer, set in an extended medieval building near Bayhurst Wood Country Park, perfect for a relaxed meal after a wander.
Cons
-
Service isn't always consistent; some experiences include little niggles like drinks left on a tray to pour yourself or unopened wine, which can dampen the vibe.
-
The toilets don't always get the attention they need, with a few mentions of them not being the cleanest, which is a shame in an otherwise nice setting.
-
There might be slight ups and downs in food quality from one visit to the next, as one review noted it was better on their first go than the second.

We came today celebrating our wedding anniversary for the first time. Jill our waitress was lovely, so polite, courteous and knowledgeable. Food was amazing...will definitely be back
The food was delicious.
Unfortunately, I was not very impressed with the service. Drinks bought over, left on tray on table, left to serve and pour, wine bought to table unopened, just little things that were not quite right. My fork was dirty. Toilets were not kept the cleanest. The server seemed the most friendly when we were getting the bill! Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but just expected a little more service.
We had a lunch with our relative who is disabled and uses a wheelchair. We were very pleased that there is an access for disabled people. We had a friendly welcome and the service throughout was excellent.
We had lunch set menu and meals were very good, delicious and well served. We would like to thank Jill, our waitress, who was very attentive and professional and also the kitchen staff who cooked our meals. Our choices were steaks and salmon. We ordered side dishes with vegetables as well. We finished our meals with cheese plate and coffee.
Overall, we had a very good time and would thoroughly recommend.
Have been to miller and carter before so I know what to expect, and this branch offers a very nice service and food. Food was better during my first at this branch, steak was nicely cooked and everything was great. However I visited again with my family for a late Mother’s Day celebration and this time a lot of the steaks were over cooked, not sure if it’s because there were too many steaks to cook for the table so timing is harder, and the crispy onion side wasn’t crispy and wad quite soggy instead. The starters (crispy squid and Pork) were good on the other hand and service was amazing.
Desserts were also slightly disappointing especially the white chocolate crème brûlée. Wish they could improve on the desserts
We chose not to read any reviews about this restaurant prior, as we wanted to experience it without any good or bad expectations from other peoples opinions . For our birthdays, we often eat out in Central London and sometimes find the food disappointing. This time, we decided to stay closer to home, and we're really glad we did. This turned out to be one of the best dining experiences we've had. The food was incredibly tasty.
Upon arrival, Nadine who looked after us throughout the evening, was absolutely brilliant, she was patient and welcoming. Always a smile on her face, even though it was extremely busy. Despite how busy Nadine was, she still surprised us with a candle on our dessert and sang us happy birthday.
