About This Pub
You know, chatting about Arens Bar & Grill at The Six Bells feels like sharing tips over a pint with mates – it's got this really inviting charm that's earned it a solid 4.4 rating from heaps of folks. From what I've seen in the reviews, the food stands out as a real highlight; people are buzzing about the fresh, tasty dishes with a clever twist, like those truffle chips that are packed with flavour all the way through or the mac melt that's just divine. The service is another winner – servers go above and beyond to make your visit memorable, creating that cosy, family-friendly atmosphere that's perfect for a catch-up or a special occasion. That covered outdoor area with heating sounds like a gem for a chilly evening, adding to the overall experience. On the flip side, though, it's a bit gutting that they're closed for refurb until September, so you'll have to hold off on planning a trip just yet. Prices are on the higher end, and some have mentioned that certain dishes, like the roast, haven't hit the mark lately, with complaints about portions or limited choices feeling a tad underwhelming for the cost. All in all, it's a place that does a lot right and could be a brilliant choice once it's back open, but it's good to go in with eyes wide open to those few niggles – that way, you're set for a cracking time when you finally swing by.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely delicious and feels fresh, with international comfort dishes that have a lovely elegant twist – reviewers can't stop raving about the tasty meals like truffle chips and mac melt.
-
Service is spot-on; the staff, like Bekim and Victor, are incredibly friendly, efficient, and make you feel right at home with their warm vibes.
-
The atmosphere is just brilliant, especially that cozy covered outdoor area with heating – it's perfect for a relaxed evening, and the decor is pretty and aesthetic, making it a great spot for families or groups.
-
They've got a fantastic range of options for events and group dining, plus things like shisha and bottomless deals, which add a fun element to the experience.
Cons
-
It's currently closed for refurbishment until September, which is a real shame if you're keen to pop in soon.
-
Prices can be a bit steep, especially for dishes like the roast dinner, which some folks feel don't quite live up to the cost anymore – £25.50 for a meal that's lost its sparkle is a downer.
-
There are a few gripes about specific menu items, like limited veg options (just carrots?) or sides that not everyone enjoys, which might leave you wanting more variety.

Lovely place! Definitely eat here!
Food was very tasty and felt quite fresh. There vibe was on point, we were seating in a covered area outside with heating that felt very cozy.
Incredible service too, food was served within minutes and our server Bekim was 10/10.
What a fab pretty place with such excellent waiting staff and management! And the food was delicious! We got truffle chips with cheese and you know the place is good when the cheese isn’t just at the top but all the way through! Ahhh divine! We went on a day they had the grinch visiting, it was a bit noisy with lots of kids running around but our toddler felt like she could also loosen up and get involved in the excitement. I imagine on a day when they don’t have a guest appearance it’s nothing like that. We got to spend enough time talking to the grinch and taking pictures with him without feeling like we didn’t get enough of his time. The staff were beyond friendly and incredibly hospitable. They apologised before we even got to our seat for the noisy environment that night and even though they were incredibly busy they never lacked in service at any point. When we left the manager was seating other guests but she still made a point to say, thank you for visiting to every customer as they left. When we first arrived there were quite a few cars blocked trying to get in and out but we saw a young staff member come out to help manoeuvre the cars. Honestly they did incredibly well on what was clearly a very hectic night. It wasnt a cheap at £90 for 2 and a half of us but it was memorable and we had a lovely time. Can’t wait to return! So glad we discovered this place !
Arens, what’s happened?! Your roast dinners used to be amazing at half the price!
Honestly think it’s the worst roast I’ve had! Cauliflower cheese should be a side dish, only 2 people out of 6 likes it! You only serve carrots as veg? For £25.50 this is shocking! The roast beef used to be the best around, it’s now rubbery and thin sliced. Never again.
Went for a Sunday roast with a friend for the first time after driving by for years.. very nice family restaurant, rather expensive menu for a pensioner like me, but quality was noticeable, & service team was top notch.
The food was very good, saving for the carrots which should be served as a dessert.. too sweet/sugary to be served with the roast.
The food and atmosphere was great. They even took the poo out the shrimp which is a win for me. The decor was pretty and aesthetic. We were served by victor he was lovely and very vibrant. The ‘pink fluffy drink’ was cute and packed a punch. The nachos share platter was very nice. The ‘mac melt’ is a delightful. The only bad thing i would say is the coleslaw was room temperature and tasted a bit old but it didn’t really make a difference.
