About This Pub

Ah, McGettigan's Fulham – it's one of those Irish pubs that really knows how to make you feel welcome, isn't it? From what I've gathered from folks who've popped in, the staff go above and beyond to sort you out, whether it's finding a good spot for your group during a big match or whipping up a solid alternative if you're a bit late for the Sunday roast. The food's a highlight too; imagine tucking into proper fish and chips or a beef burger that's part of a cheeky 2 for 1 deal – it's all about that hearty, traditional fare without breaking the bank. And the atmosphere? Brilliant for live music or cheering on the team, with plenty of beers on tap to keep things flowing. But let's keep it real, it's not perfect – one mate mentioned a sticky glass that put a dampener on their whisky, and it does feel like they could tighten up on the little details sometimes. Still, with a solid 4.0 rating overall, it's a go-to for a relaxed night out, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe double-check those opening times. All in all, it's a welcoming spot that does the Irish pub thing rather well, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the area for a pint and some good craic.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The food is spot on – think delicious fish and chips, hearty Sunday roasts, and great value deals like 2 for 1 burgers on Thursdays.
  • It's got a brilliant atmosphere, especially during matches or with live music, perfect for catching up with mates over a pint.
  • They offer a good selection of beers and drinks at moderate prices, with some cracking alternatives if you're after something beyond the usual.
  • The portions are generous, and it's a fantastic spot for watching sports or enjoying a vibrant vibe.
Cons
  • There can be occasional slip-ups with hygiene, like a dirty glass turning what should be a relaxing drink into a bit of a letdown.
  • It might not always hit the mark for everyone, with some experiences feeling just average rather than outstanding.
  • The operating hours seem a tad limited on certain days, so it's worth checking ahead if you're planning a visit on a Sunday afternoon.

Came to watch Ireland against Argentina. We were given a warm welcome and staff very accommodating to our group and where we wanted to sit. Service excellent and food very good too. The live music was top drawer and took a well timed break for the game.

We went to this pub when we got in London and before we left. The manager (don't remember his name 😞) was very nice and accommodated our food request. We had the fish and chips and it was definitely a traditional delicious dish. Great vibrant atmosphere during a match.

Today was the first time to dine-in in this amazing place, the atmosphere, food, staff, prices .. everything is so great, you can also watch sports, enjoy nice music and the portions are big. On Thursday there is 2 for 1 burgers, very nice offer! I had a beef burger with a very nice long island ice tea! Recommend to anyone! The owner put so much effort to make this place absolutely gorgeous! Every detail it's unique!

Stopped in for a drink; Maltsmith beer and a Macallan 12 scotch; average priced. Unfortunately the scotch glass had a dirty sticky exterior which detracted from the experience. Nice/decent environment.
