Awesome. More Irish than the potato. Packed with atmosphere. You'd hope so anyway or breathing would be tricky. I didn't find it a problem at all, except maybe once or twice in the gents. But you can't blame the bar for that.
An outstanding pub. Very, very reasonably priced at a time when so many venues seem intent on overcharging. Do an excellent Guinness. Great vibe & atmosphere. Exceptional, quick service at the bar. Screens for various sports. Live bands. A proper local gem & I wish we had more like this in London. 5 stars!

McCafferty's Bar is located on the border between Crouch End and Hornsey in North London. The nearest station is Hornsey mainline, it’s a five minute walk to get here.
This pub started life as The Hope and Anchor built in 1851. Today, this pub is part of an independent PubCo “McCafferty's” who have fifteen pubs across Ireland, England, Spain and the UAE.
This is a traditionally decorated Irish pub that has a warm and welcoming local pub feel. The main bar is ‘L’ shaped, clad in dark wood panels, has a dark boarded floor and has lots of interesting Irish memorabilia. Just off the main bar is a cosy snug with a dartboard and a huge pew to watch the oche from. My favourite area was the atmospheric back room that oozed old world charm. At the rear of the pub is paved beer garden with a large screen TV.
The beer selection is all keg and offers a diverse selection of standard, premium and craft beers. As this is an Irish boozer, I had to try the Guinness, my pint was excellent, price point was reasonable. This is a wet-led pub, so there is no food menu available but there are plenty of Tayto’s to choose from.
We arrived at 11am and were the first ones through the door. We were welcomed by a friendly member of the team who was friendly and courteous. We had a lovely chat with the Guv’nor who told us all about the comings and goings of the pub and his years in the pub trade, top fella.
This pub has plenty to keep you entertained and hosts Live Music, DJ Nights, Live Sport including Premier League and GAA. All info is on their socials.
@mccaffertyscrouchend was a fantastic start to our day out exploring Crouch End. The inviting setting and the warm hospitality made it really easy to settle in. The Guinness was great and not expensive and there’s plenty to keep you entertained. This was by far our favourite pub of the day, we shall return.
