About This Pub
Ah, Maule Collective – it's one of those places that really stands out in Northampton for anyone who appreciates a good pint. From what I've gathered chatting about it with mates, the beer scene is where it shines brightest; they've got 20 lines on tap, including their own brews made just a mile away, and a rotating lineup of guest beers that keep things exciting. The Scandi-industrial vibe gives it a modestly elegant touch, and the beer garden is ideal for soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand. Staff are often praised for being friendly and clued-up, which makes for a relaxed visit, and it's great to see it's so welcoming to dogs too. On the flip side, though, there are times when the service falls a bit flat – some have said the team can seem a touch standoffish, and that might spoil the experience if you're after a lively night. Music-wise, it's hit or miss; weekends with DJs playing vinyl is a treat, but otherwise, it might not always get the energy just right. And while the cocktails sound tempting, a few have been disappointed with inconsistent pours or flavours that didn't quite deliver for the price. Overall, it's a solid spot worth checking out, especially if you're into craft beers, but keep in mind it has its ups and downs like any local haunt.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic range of their own fresh brews like Mandarina Lager and Lucky IPA, plus cracking guest beers from the likes of Buxton and Deya – perfect for anyone who loves exploring new flavours.
-
The staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable, making you feel right at home, and it's super dog-friendly, which is a bonus if you're out with your furry mate.
-
The atmosphere is brilliant, especially on weekends with DJs spinning soulful tunes on vinyl, and they've got a cosy beer garden for those sunny days in Northampton.
-
You can grab top-notch cocktails, like a classic Negroni, or even some outstanding coffee from local roasters, adding a nice variety beyond just the beers.
Cons
-
Some folks have mentioned the staff can come across as a bit uptight at times, which might put a damper on the fun if they're not in the mood.
-
The music and overall vibe isn't always hitting the mark, with complaints about it feeling a tad underwhelming or not quite lively enough.
-
There have been issues with inaccurate pours and cocktails that didn't live up to the hype, especially when you're paying a premium for them.

Great space! Awesome beers, friendly and knowledgeable staff and a nice crowd. Super dog friendly as well so Dennis my French Bulldog was very happy too 🐾
Staff are very uptight and can’t have a good time -unless they’re having a good time amongst themselves. Could do with better music and a nicer atmosphere. Also the free pour the staff did was inaccurate and the cocktail we paid a premium price for was underwhelming.
Excellent choice of craft beer and lager. Staff are always friendly and it has a great atmosphere when you go during busy periods. Otherwise, it’s great for a pint by yourself.
Great selection of craft beers and cocktails. Great ambiance and atmosphere
Always a great selection of their own beers and a good guest list. The cocktails are good too. Always stop in when in Northampton.
