About This Pub
Ah, the Marquis of Lorne – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Stevenage. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks absolutely rave about the welcoming atmosphere; the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at ease, whether you're popping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening. The drinks selection is spot on, with a great range of beers and more, and they've got live sports on the telly, which is brilliant for catching the likes of Premier League matches or even cricket tests – I can imagine the excitement building during those games. Then there's the food; pizzas straight from the oven and a cheeky cheese board make it more than just a drink stop. It's got that traditional charm with a roaring fire, perfect for a cosy chat on a chilly night, and from the reviews, events like Halloween parties sound like a right laugh with good tunes and a mix of people. On the flip side, the operating hours can be a tad confusing with some details suggesting earlier closes than what's listed, so you might want to double-check before heading out. Prices are moderate, which is fair but could mount up for a big group, and it's very much a pub at heart, so if you're not into that scene, it might not be your cup of tea. All in all, it's a solid choice for a good time with mates, offering that balance of relaxation and entertainment without any pretence – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area!

Cons
-

Visiting the Marquis of Lorne last night with some friends for a drink after work. This was my first time back since the new owners, plenty beer on Tap and btl to choose from. You cann tell the owners care for the pub and look after the customer well. The place look very nice and much better than before, the owners organised some different nights for the week and raffle on the Sunday which become very popular (check their facebook page to see what they got to offer) and the bar staff are really nice too. I believe that the kids are welcome into this pub which is very nice for the parents. The food menu offer some pizza which we didn't have a chance to try it because we booked a restaurant after our drinks, I will defenatly have one on my next visit next week.
Well done guy's,
I look forward to seeing all next week after the Christmas Festive.
