About This Pub
Ah, MarkG – what a delightful little find in Lowestoft! I've got to say, if you're after some truly scrumptious seafood, this place really hits the mark with its daily menus packed full of fresh, locally-sourced fish and shellfish that's inspired by British and European flavours. From what folks are saying, the food is spot-on – think perfectly cooked cod, mussels, and lobster that leave you wanting more – and the team behind the scenes are just lovely, always on hand with recommendations and a friendly chat to make your evening even better. It's got that cosy, intimate feel that's ideal for a catch-up with mates or a special night out, paired with a nice glass of wine or a local beer. On the flip side, though, do keep in mind the hours can be a tad restrictive, with the spot closed on Mondays and during certain holidays, and it does fill up quickly, so popping in on a whim might not always work. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone keen on quality grub without the fuss, and I'd reckon it's well worth seeking out if you're in the area – just make sure to book ahead for the full experience!

Lovely unassuming restaurant. It is good to report that 1 year on since our last visit, the food and service is still excellent.
We visited Mark G’s for a valentines date night! The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, intimate, but not awkward. Attentive, professional, knowledgeable staff. Food was absolutely divine. Everything so fresh and tasty. Presented beautifully. Highly recommended-a little gem in Lowestoft!
Great Meal at Mark G's again. Food was outstanding. My wife had the roast cod, which was delicious. I had the Monk fish scampi that was perfect. We also had a number of small plates to start including Whitebait and popcorn cockles, all great. Everything washed down with a nice bottle of Rioja. This place a small and usually busy but stands out with the quality and freshness of the food.
Some of the best mussels we’ve had, as well as perfectly cooked lobster and skate.
Really enjoyed our meal here!
We visiting MarkG during a trip to the Norfolk coast last year.
This guy cooks up some of the best fish and shell fish dishes we have ever had.
I would highly recommend booking a table if you are in the area, and yes, you should book
We came mid week and the place was packed.
I would also advise booking a taxi in advance if. It driving, it can be difficult to get one
