About This Pub
Ah, Ma Cameron's, what a lovely spot it is in the heart of Aberdeen—I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that just draws you in with its rich history and welcoming feel. Picture this: you're settling into that snug bar that's been around since the 1700s, surrounded by character and stories from yesteryear, and the staff are all smiles, making sure you're looked after from the get-go. The food's a proper treat too; whether it's the highly praised chicken sharer or those delicious nachos and duck confit, everything seems to be crafted with care and flavour in mind. And if you're into sports, it's a dream—plenty of screens for watching the likes of the Women's Euros or other big matches, all while sipping on a well-poured pint or a cocktail from their curated list. It's got all the perks for a relaxed evening out, from being dog-friendly to having a beer garden for when the sun's out. But, to keep it real, there have been a few grumbles about food taking a while to arrive, which could be a bit frustrating if you're starving after a long day. Still, with such a solid 4.3 rating from folks who've been there, it's clear the good far outweighs the bad. If you're heading to Aberdeen, I'd definitely suggest giving it a go—grab your pals, book a table, and soak up the atmosphere; you might just find yourself returning for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The historic charm of Ma Cameron's is absolutely delightful—it's the oldest pub in Aberdeen, with a snug bar that's been around since the 18th century, making every visit feel like stepping back in time.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming; they've got that warm smile and patience that makes you feel right at home, whether you're trying something new like potted crab or just popping in for a drink.
-
The food is a real highlight—dishes like the chicken sharer, nachos, duck confit, and salmon fish cakes come highly recommended, with fresh flavours that hit the spot every time.
-
It's brilliant for sports fans, with loads of TVs showing live action from Sky Sports and TNT, plus events like the Women's Euros, so you can catch all the excitement in a lively atmosphere.
-
They've got great facilities too, like a beer garden for those sunny days, free WiFi, and it's dog-friendly and family-oriented, making it versatile for different get-togethers.
Cons
-
One downside is that food service can be a bit slow at times; I heard from someone that they waited over an hour for their mains, even when it wasn't too busy, which might put a dampener on things.
-
The beer garden can get a tad chilly, especially in the shade, so it's not always ideal for outdoor sipping if the weather's not cooperating.

Myself and my girlfriend have been coming here for a while now but just last week while we were on our anniversary weekend, we had a lovely night and some of the best food ever. And some wonderful drinks too. They will always endeavour to look after you. I highly recommend the chicken sharer. It was some of the best and such amazing quality. They remain a favourite and a classic. Will definitely be back!
It was a really nice place, have lots of tv too watch sports on, but the food took so long we waited over 1 hour for our mains, it wasn’t even busy when we went.
The staffs are very friendly and patiently explain to us what is a potted crab (importantly with his warm smile), which I never had before.
We ordered potted crab and nachos. Nachos are great. Keep it up. Highly recommended.
The atmosphere of the pub is awesome. Lots of TVs in all directions for you to watch games. I also enjoy the old design of the building.
There is also board games for everyone to enjoy. There must be something to suit everyone here.
This was my first time in Aberdeen and I just stopped by for a beverage yo explore this pub. Connor was serving me. The service was excellent and Connor made me feel really welcomed. I very much enjoyed being at the pub and I can highly recommend! Oh, The Snug is marvellous!
Fantastic place. Has a roof top beer garden, though it was a bit chilly in the shade. The staff is lovely and provides fast service. We went with friends and had a lovely time. The drinks are fine and the food was delicious. Most of us had the duck confit which was delicious. The salmon fish cake and chicken Kiev was very good too. For desserts we had the sticky toffee which was a bit dry and the peach frangipani which was okay.
