About This Pub

Ah, Lockdown Kitchen & Bar, what a lovely little find in Chorley! From what I've gathered chatting about it with folks, it's clear this place knows how to deliver on the basics – think juicy, gourmet burgers that are packed with flavour and come in sizes that'll have you loosening your belt a notch or two. The staff are just brilliant, always up for a chat and making sure everything runs smoothly, which really adds to that welcoming feel. It's spot on for a casual get-together, with a solid drink menu and a buzzing atmosphere that makes you want to linger a bit longer. On the flip side, though, it kicks off at 1 PM, so if you're an early riser looking for a morning bite, you might be out of luck. And while the burgers steal the show, the menu's pretty focused on hearty, American-inspired fare, which isn't everyone's cup of tea if you're after something lighter. All in all, it's a solid choice for burger enthusiasts – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the minor niggles, and you'll likely leave with a smile and a full belly.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The burgers are absolutely spot on – gourmet delights that really hit the spot, with massive portions that'll leave you stuffed and satisfied.
  • Friendly staff who make you feel right at home, always ready with a smile and attentive service to enhance your visit.
  • A cracking atmosphere in the heart of Chorley town centre, perfect for a relaxed meal with mates or family.
  • Impressive drink selection and sides like onion rings that add to the overall experience, making it worth every penny.
  • It's a proper local gem with a personal touch from the owner, who's clearly passionate about what they do.
Cons
  • It doesn't open until 1 PM, which might be a bit late if you're after a spot for a quick lunch or breakfast.
  • The focus is heavily on burgers and American-style grub, so if you're in the mood for something lighter or more varied, it might not quite fit the bill.
  • Portions are so generous that you might end up with leftovers, but that could mean it's a tad overwhelming if you're not in the mood for a feast.

My wife and I recently visited Lockdown Burger to satisfy a serious fat man craving, and it was an outstanding experience. The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The food arrived fresh and piping hot, just as it should. We were impressed with the impressive drink selection, especially the Blue Moon on tap, served with refreshing orange segments—definitely a highlight. The burger was perfectly seasoned and exactly what you'd expect from a top-notch burger joint. The decor was modern and welcoming, contributing to a great overall atmosphere. If I had to offer a small critique, it would be that the cheese options for the burgers are somewhat limited, but that’s a minor detail compared to the overall quality. Lockdown Burger is hands down the best burger place in Chorley, and we’ll definitely be back. See you soon!

Accidently found this gem wandering past a week ago and decided I'd come back this week and I'm glad I did! Love the atmosphere, friendly staff and although I was hoping for a big kahuna burger (say what again...) I was still pleasantly surprised by the PB & J burger along with the sweetcorn ribs. I'll definitely be returning and suggesting this place to others!

Went here on Thursday night. 09/01/25 Beautiful place. Was greeted by a very friendly young man. He said we could sit upstairs if it was too cold downstairs. We opted for down however as there where other people in and it had a nice atmosphere. So it was our first time coming here. I can't believe I've actually waited so long after seeing the other reviews. Plus it's literally a 1 min walk from my house. We went for the lockdown burger with the loaded salt and pepper chicken fries and two pints of blue moon to wash it down with I got a coca cola aswell otherwise the pint would have been gone far to quickly. The burger was presented beautifully please see my photos. It tasted out of this world perfectly seasoned and cooked perfectly. The loaded fries were next level. Portion size was incredible could have been a main meal on there own. Chicken stripes were cooked amazingly well. Again seasoned to perfection. Fries had curry sauce on them. Proper chip shop style. With fresh chilli's on top. We got chatting to Chloe who I have to give a special mention to as her customer service was on top form. We asked a few questions about the place and she answered everything perfectly. Such a polite person and genuinely interested in chatting to us. The whole experience from walking in the door to leaving was nothing less than exceptional! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience. 10/10
