About This Pub

Ah, Clarke's Sibin, what a hidden gem in Chorley! I have to say, it's one of those places that just draws you in with its warm, homely feel and that unmistakable Irish charm. The staff are absolute stars – always up for a chat and serving drinks with a genuine smile that makes the whole experience feel personal and inviting. It's got this fantastic military theme going on, which is spot on if you're an ex-service type or just fancy a bit of history mixed with your pint; it's clear it's a hub for like-minded folks to share stories and have a laugh. The drinks selection is solid too, with a great choice of beers and spirits – that Guinness is always a treat and hits the spot just right. Plus, they've got live music on offer, which really livens things up and turns an ordinary evening into something special. On the flip side, though, the space is a tad compact, especially downstairs, so it might feel a bit tight if it's packed, and I've heard from a mate that real ales can be hit or miss, which is a shame if that's your thing. Also, without a website, it's not the easiest to plan a visit in advance. All in all, it's a cracking spot for a casual get-together, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go – just go with the flow and you'll have a top time!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always serving with a smile that makes you feel right at home.
  • It has a warm, lively atmosphere, especially with its military theme that's perfect for ex-service folks to connect and chat.
  • A great selection of beers and spirits, including a cracking pint of Guinness at a fair price.
  • Live music and events add to the fun, making it a brilliant spot for a memorable night out.
Cons
  • The space can feel a bit cosy, with just one main room downstairs, which might get snug on busier evenings.
  • Real ales aren't always available, as one visit showed they were out last time but had some on another.
  • No website means it's a bit of a faff to check opening times or more details before heading over.

First visit to this pub. Casta tells me there were no real ales last time we were in Chorley. On this visit Ossett White Rat was on so I had a pint. One square room downstairs but there is more room upstairs. Lots of military insignia from Guards regiments, Black Watch etc.

What a lovely little Irish bar this is. Wonderful Owner and Staff, great selection of beers and spirits, with a fabulously warm atmosphere from the customers. It is also home for the Chorley Veterans. A wonderful night with live music too. This is a 'must visit again' kind of pub 11/10!

First time I've visited this bar. Military theme and as an ex soldier I really enjoyed it, met lots of like minded people from all 3 services. The boss Derek is an ex Irish guard, very friendly and welcoming. I can't speak highly enough about the bar, if your ex military then get yourself over to it, you will have a really good time. Barry
