About This Pub
Ah, Pearsons – it's one of those local gems in Chorley that I've heard folks chatting about, and from what I've gathered from the buzz around, it's got that comforting pub feel with a fresh twist. The new decor and management have clearly made a positive impact, giving it a welcoming atmosphere that's perfect for popping in for a pint or two, especially if you're after something affordable and straightforward like their John Smiths. The staff are genuinely lovely, always up for a bit of banter, which really adds to the charm. Plus, it's brilliant for sports fans with all those TVs dotted around, and the weekends sound like a blast with DJs and dancing – imagine sinking into a good session with mates. On the flip side, it does tend to get a bit boisterous in the evenings, so if you're in the mood for a peaceful catch-up, you might want to time your visit for the afternoon. That said, on a quiet Sunday, it might not have the buzz you're hoping for, and given its heritage building, some have found it doesn't quite capture that historic essence they expected. All in all, it's a reliable spot for a good time without breaking the bank, but keep in mind it could be hit or miss depending on when you go – I'd say it's worth a try if you're in the area, just go with the flow and enjoy the local vibe.

Cons
-
It can get a bit rowdy in the evenings, which might not suit everyone if you're after a quiet night.

The atmosphere can feel a tad lacking on quieter afternoons, like Sundays, so it might not always live up to expectations for a historic spot.
-
With no website or online presence, it's a bit tricky to check out the latest updates or menus before heading over.

New landlord, new decor. A definite step in the right direction. Friendly bar staff, nice pint of John Smiths 👍 nice and chillaxed in the afternoon, can be quite rowdy on the night. Good boozer though...
Great pub with one real ales on. Spot on and just been modernised. Great prices on drinks.
Best place ever... and must place to visit for drinks and watching sport and dancing at weekend to the djs
Can't really slate it.
Given this buildings heritage, we expected to walk in and get a glimpse of Chorleys finest, but it wasn't that at all. Not really an atmosphere but then again it was a Sunday afternoon. Will visit again, but not sure what a Saturday evening entertainment will be like 👀
In Chorley with Flatima and Casta. Flatima's Christmas Advent calendar present to Mrs Pub Reviewer. Ticking off pubs on the Chorley Ale Trail. Pearsons is number 11 of 22. A large one room pub with a large rear beer patio and covered smoking areas. Has the most TV's I have ever seen in a pub. About 8 inside and 5 outside plus 2 pull down screens. They sell Moorhouses beer over three handpumps. Only one ready on my Thursday noon visit but really good. Straw Dog golden ale. Lovely well kept interior.
