About This Pub

Ah, Liverpool Road Social – what a lovely find in Crosby! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really nails the balance of being elegant yet approachable, making you feel like you're catching up with old friends over some seriously good grub. The food stands out as a highlight; folks rave about the tender chicken dishes, fabulous Sunday roasts, and even posh boneless chicken wings that feel a cut above the rest, all thanks to top local ingredients and clever twists from award-winning chefs. Pair that with a well-curated wine list, and you've got yourself a dining experience that's hard to beat. The staff get a big thumbs up too, being friendly and attentive without hovering, which is just right for a lively evening or a big birthday bash – one review even mentioned a seamless meal for 26 people! On the flip side, it's not the spot for a vast menu; they keep things focused, which means if you're after a wide range of choices, you might find it a bit limited. Also, it's got that refined restaurant feel rather than a classic pub vibe, so if you're just wanting a casual drink, it could come across as a touch formal. All in all, it's a solid choice for when you fancy treating yourself, and with its handy location and reliable opening times, I'd say it's worth a visit for anyone looking for quality over quantity.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely top-notch, with dishes like the Chicken Caesar Salad and Sunday roasts being cooked to perfection using fresh, local ingredients – it's a real treat for the taste buds!
  • The atmosphere is spot on, blending contemporary elegance with a relaxed vibe, making it ideal for everything from casual lunches to special celebrations with friends or family.
  • Service is warm and attentive without being over the top, as shared in the reviews – perfect for enjoying a meal with a group and feeling right at home.
  • They've got a cracking wine selection that pairs beautifully with the meals, elevating the whole dining experience.
  • It's conveniently located in Crosby and open seven days a week, with hours that make it easy to pop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Cons
  • The menu doesn't offer a huge variety, focusing on doing a few things really well, which might leave you wanting more options if you're in the mood for something different.
  • As it's more of a refined restaurant than a traditional pub, it might not hit the spot if you're after a laid-back, no-fuss pint and chat – it's a bit more sophisticated overall.
  • Prices aren't specified, but given the high-quality ingredients and awards mentioned, it could feel a tad pricey for everyday visits, so it's worth keeping in mind for special occasions.

This is a little gem of a place. Lovely atmosphere and local to visit. Top quality food. We visited today at lunchtime and chose the Chicken Ceasar Salad which was amazing. The chicken was tender with crispy skin, well seasoned with crispy bacon, crutons and anchovies, crisp baby gem luttuce, laced with parmesan and garlic flavours. We ordered a side of truffle & parmesan fries between us. Would absolutely recommend this great restaurant :-)

We have just celebrated my Mums 70th Birthday Meal here and had a 3 course meal for 26 people, and I can't recommend this place enough. The food, the service, and attentiveness shown from the staff to all of us as a large party was amazing. Thank you all

Dined with a group of friends yesterday evening, a busy Saturday - we were given a table in the bar because the restaurant was fully booked. We had a fabulous night! The food was amazing, the service was friendly and attentive (but not too much!) and there was a vibrant atmosphere. We all loved it and are already planning a return visit! Wholeheartedly recommended 😁

First time eating here. Food is excellent, cooked to perfection. Menu isn't especially varied but the vibe seems to be doing a smallish number of things very well rather than offering lots and it just being ok. I had the chicken skewer and braised rice and it was really very good. Decent sized portions, too; you certainly don't leave feeling hungry. Drink options also very good and plenty of choice in this area, as you'd expect for a place that's also a bar. All in all its not the cheapest place to go but you can't moan about the price to quality ratio. I've definitely paid more for less in the past, and I'd certainly go back. I'd definitely recommend booking if you're looking to eat here as it's already very popular.
