About This Pub

Ah, the Limekiln in Bulwell – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, doesn't it? From what I've gathered, it's got this lovely community spirit where everyone from families to groups of friends can kick back and enjoy themselves. The food's a real highlight; I'm talking about those pub classics done right, like juicy burgers and fresh salads that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank. And the staff? They're gems, always ready with a cheerful chat and attentive service that makes you feel looked after from the moment you walk in. It's brilliant for catching the big games on the screens or soaking up the sun in the beer garden, and they've got events like quizzes that add a fun twist to your evening. On the flip side, it does get buzzing on weekends, so you might find yourself waiting a bit for a table or your meal if it's packed, and if you're in the mood for something more low-key, the lively music could be a touch overwhelming. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in Nottingham looking for good value and a genuine welcome – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself; you might just end up making it your regular spot.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – think fresh salads, tasty burgers, and hearty Sunday lunches that hit the spot every time.
  • Staff are an absolute delight; they're warm, welcoming, and go the extra mile, like checking for allergies and serving with a smile.
  • It's a proper community hub with a great atmosphere, perfect for watching sports, enjoying quizzes, or just relaxing in the beer garden on a sunny day.
  • Drinks selection is impressive, with everything from craft beers and ciders to cocktails, and it's all at a budget-friendly price.
  • Plenty of space inside and out, with easy parking and family-friendly events that make it ideal for gatherings with mates or loved ones.
Cons
  • It can get a bit lively during peak times, which might mean a wait for your food or a table if you're popping in spontaneously.
  • The music and dancing vibe is fun, but if you're after a quiet pint, it might feel a tad energetic on busier nights.
  • While the grub's great value, some might wish for a bit more variety in the menu beyond the classic pub fare.

It's a top-notch pub with thoroughly decent grub. It's easy to find with loads of parking and good outdoor seating. Inside, it's spacious and clean, with very welcoming staff. Sunday lunch was delicious, and they can pour a good pint of Guinness. Overall, it has a good vibe.

We organised a wake here at very short notice. Nicky accommodated our needs and did everything she could to make the occasion comfortable. All the staff were pleasant and obliging. We asked for peppermint tea, decaf teas and coffee, extra chips which were scrumptious! Nicky added some special spices to the chips, her secret recipe! A big thank you to all. Please try this lovely local pub, restaurant. It is very close to the cemetery and very handy for the wake and a cuppa !
