About This Pub

Ah, Legends Cafe – it's one of those places that really warms your heart when it hits the mark, but it does have its off days, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is where they shine brightest; think fresh, flavoursome dishes with hearty portions that make you want to come back for more. Whether it's their all-day breakfast or a Sunday roast, it's clear they've put a lot of love into those homemade favourites, creating that comforting, home-away-from-home feel. The atmosphere is spot on for a relaxed get-together – imagine sinking into a casual lounge with a cuppa, catching up on the news or just unwinding with your lot. And the staff? Well, they're often lovely and attentive, popping over to make sure everything's alright, which adds a nice personal touch. But, fair warning, it's not all perfect roses; service can drag a bit sometimes, and you might run into a server who's not quite in the mood, which can put a dampener on things. Plus, a few reviews mentioned drinks like tea coming out a bit weak or certain items not quite matching expectations, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you're after something specific. Overall, though, with a solid 4.5 rating, I'd say it's worth a punt for a casual bite – just go in with an open mind, and you'll likely have a cracking time.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely spot on – fresh, full of flavour, and with generous portions that leave you satisfied.
  • It's a family-friendly spot with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed catch-up with mates or a solo brekkie.
  • Staff can be really friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home, especially when they check in to see how your meal's going.
  • They've got a great selection for all-day breakfast and brunch, with homemade favourites that hit the spot from dawn till dusk.
Cons
  • Service can be a bit hit-and-miss; sometimes it's slow, and you might catch a staff member who seems a tad disinterested.
  • A few items, like the tea or certain dishes, don't always live up to expectations – think watery brews or parathas that aren't quite as you'd hope.
  • It might feel a little inconsistent overall, with some visits being brilliant and others just okay, based on what folks have said.

I recently tried Legends Cafe in Batley and, honestly, it was a bit of a mixed bag. The staff seemed all over the place one guy in particular looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. Service was slow, and it felt like the team could really use some retraining. One thing that really put me off was the flies. There were loads of them buzzing around our table, and I heard other people complaining about it too. Not great when you’re trying to enjoy a meal. Speaking of the food, it looked good when it arrived, but the taste just didn’t match up. Nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either. Parking is available, but there aren’t many spaces, so you might struggle if it’s busy. Overall, Legends Cafe has potential, but it needs a lot of work especially with the staff and cleanliness. I probably won’t be rushing back.

I had a wonderful experience with this meal. The food was fresh, well-cooked, and full of flavor. The portion size was generous and the packaging was clean and secure. Delivery was on time, and the person was polite and professional. I really enjoyed every bite and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you for the excellent service!

The Desi breakfast was good, although the parata wasn’t as expected. It went well with the rest of the meal. The Desi tea was very watery, though. The atmosphere was family-friendly and high chairs were available.

Travelled from Sheffield to try this place after someone recommended it and I can definitely say it was worth the travel, we tried the chicken and beef sunday roast and portion sizes were good and food was spot on. Customer service was great, friendly staff and they do come round and ask how the food was. We got a table pretty quick given it was a Sunday and was busy. Theres parking on site. We also tried the fresh orange juice and iced spanish latte, honestly cant find any fault!

We ate at legends cafe and left very happy. Greeted politely at the door at were taken to our seat. We ordered Sunday roast and other items. Drinks arrived first and shortly followed by our meal. Portion size were good and quality was very good.. We enjoyed both meals. Opted to share a dessert and were pleased by that too. Desserts are freshly baked so we will definitely be back to try some more as they all looked fab! Liked how the waiters were in uniform it really compliments the aesthetic of the resturant. Had a really good conversation with the manager who was really polite and keen to hear our honest feedback so improvements can be made where needed. Hats off to the young 22 year old, she’s really managing the place very well. Pray facilities available too which was helpful. Will be back again.
