About This Pub
Ah, The Taproom Batley – or as it's known locally, the Wilton Arms – is one of those pubs that feels like a proper Yorkshire gem, with its old-school vibe and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to settle in for the evening. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's doing a smashing job of keeping the traditional pub spirit alive, with affordable drinks that are a real treat during those weekday happy hours, and the staff can be wonderfully friendly when they're at their best. Folks rave about the real ales, the live music, and even the odd recommendation for garlic breaded chicken that's apparently worth begging for. It's clean, cosy, and perfect for a quiet pint by the fire or catching some sport on the telly. But, let's be straight, it's not all roses – there are times when the service falls flat, like when staff are glued to their phones instead of pulling pints, leading to some frustrated punters heading elsewhere. Overall, with a solid 4.2 rating, it's a place I'd recommend giving a go if you're in the area, just maybe pop in on a good day for the full experience. It's got that balance of homely charm and a few rough edges that make it feel real and authentic.

One of the last remaining pubs in Batley, making a great job on reviving a traditional local , cheap drinks Monday to Friday until 6 pm , great bar staff.
The service In here is absolutely shocking. Bar staff would sooner stand at the end of the bar playing on their phone's than serve customers drinks. I've witnessed personally customers leaving and going elsewhere for their drinks, the service is that bad.
Traditional Yorkshire pub. It has seats, serves beer and has a fire. Also a telly with sport on it. If you want to chat, chat. If you want to be left alone, don't chat. Good service from an honest, hard-working bunch of people.
This was a gripping pub to visit, with a stone based design taking one back in time! The counter is well presented, staff were friendly and the curtains add to the setting. I enjoyed a cheap pint of Guinness, sitting comfortably at a clean table!
Best pub in Batley with great real ales and wines. Brilliant live music venue. Surroundings are clean & well styled. The chef is excellent! Ask for the garlic breaded chicken....even if not on the menu. It's fantastic!
