About This Pub

Ah, Kings Mill Farm, what a gem it is for a laid-back evening or family meal; I've heard from folks who've been that the staff really shine with their warm chats and helpful nature, making you feel like you're among friends rather than just another face in the crowd. The food's a real highlight too – think succulent carvery options and wraps that leave you satisfied without breaking the bank, though do watch out for those oversized drinks that might have you tapping out early! It's got that cosy, spacious feel that's perfect for gatherings, with handy perks like EV charging and outdoor spaces adding to the appeal. On the flip side, it can get a tad busy, so popping in without a booking might mean a bit of a wait, but overall, it's a place that does the simple things well and leaves you with a smile, especially if you're after an affordable spot near the reservoir for a full day out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and go the extra mile to make you feel right at home, like chatting with your son when he's having a tough day.
  • The food is spot on, especially the carvery with its generous portions of meat, veggies, and those dreamy Yorkshire puds; it's perfect for a hearty meal with mates or family.
  • It's a proper family-friendly spot with great facilities like disabled access, a car park, and even indoor play areas, making it easy for everyone to enjoy a visit.
  • The atmosphere is lovely and spacious, ideal for groups or special events, and it's right near attractions like the reservoir for a nice day out.
Cons
  • Portions can be a bit overwhelming, like that massive soft drink they serve – it might be more than you bargain for if you're not feeling particularly thirsty.
  • It does get quite popular, so you might end up waiting for a table during peak times, which could put a slight dampener on spontaneous plans.

We had a lovely meal as a treat for my kids. The manager on tonight keeley was amazing, so friendly and had a lovely chat with my son who wasn't having a good day. We just want to say thank you to her as she is a credit to the company. My son wanted me to show her this he wrote.

Went to the restaurant at Kings Mill Farm. I could not fault it in any way. The food was lovely (we had both options of carvery and off menu as we were a large group) Nathan took out mains and pudding orders and he was really nice and helpful. The manager gave me good feedback on a query that I had about further bookings. In all, all the staff was really helpful and provided top quality service. I will definitely be back.

We had a party of 20 with our own area, service was great and really friendly. Food came out at pretty much the same time other than for us that went to get our carvery’s, you get plenty of meat on the carvery and you have lots of choice on veggies. I would definitely recommend for family events it’s a great place to get together for a nice meal.

Located in Mansfield, right opposite King's Mill Reservoir, this restaurant is a fantastic spot for a delightful outing with great food. The venue is spacious, featuring a beautiful ambiance and welcoming staff. Our visit turned into a memorable weekend experience. After exploring King's Mill Reservoir, we headed to Kings Mill Farm for lunch, where we were greeted with warm smiles. The menu offers a well-curated selection of dishes, catering to diverse tastes. We opted for the Gammon Steak and Farmhouse Chicken Tikka Masala, accompanied by a refreshing beer. The Tikka Masala had an incredibly authentic flavor—simply amazing! It was a perfect Saturday, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Not been here for years but came out for some lunch with my wife on a rare week day off, the food was really good and our server Tina was really helpful and friendly. Don't order the ultimate soft drink unless you're really thirsty though, it's huge lol we both had a Yorkshire pudding wrap and they were so good. Nothing to complain about, it was all top stuff.
