About This Pub
Ah, Kimberworth Park – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away on the outskirts of Rotherham. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food really steals the show; think classic pub grub done right, with generous portions that leave you satisfied and desserts that'll have you coming back for more. The staff are an absolute delight, always up for a chat and bending over backwards to sort out any requests, which makes the whole place feel welcoming and relaxed. It's spot on for families or if you're out with the dog, and that beer garden is a winner on a sunny day – imagine tucking into a meal al fresco with a cold pint in hand. They've got events like auctions that add a bit of excitement and keep things lively, plus it's all at prices that won't break the bank. On the flip side, though, it's not perfect; there've been times when service has lagged, especially during peak periods like Christmas, leading to cold dishes or meals that just didn't taste quite right. Still, with an overall rating hovering around 4.3, it's clear the good days far outnumber the bad. If you're heading out for a pint and some nosh, I'd say give it a go – it's got that homely charm that makes you want to linger, but just keep in mind it might not be flawless every visit.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – generous portions and cooked with real care, making it a treat for anyone popping in for a bite.
-
Staff are always so friendly and welcoming, like chatting with old mates; they go out of their way to make you feel at home.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with a kids' menu and even dog-friendly, so you can bring the whole crew without any fuss.
-
Love the beer garden for enjoying a pint or meal outdoors – perfect for soaking up the sun with friends.
-
Great value for money, especially with deals like the Sunday carvery and events such as auctions that add a fun vibe.
Cons
-
Service can be hit or miss during busy times, like that Christmas lunch where things dragged on and the food didn't live up to expectations.
-
There might be the odd off day with food quality, as one experience had it tasting a bit off, which is a shame when it's usually brilliant.
-
It gets quite lively with events, so if you're after a quiet evening, it might not always hit the mark.

We come to the Kimberworth park at least once a week and are there all day from when they open until at least 9pm for the auction. The food is always amazing and clearly cooked with love and attention to detail. The portions are generous and desserts are delicious.
Louise and the team are always friendly and welcoming and the pub is always clean and tidy.
Since we first came to The Kimberworth last September it has become our go to place to go even when we aren't there for auction. My Son even picked it for his 18th birthday meal and he is very picky about where he eats, he had a great time.
Lovely pub. We come every week for auction. Staff are always lovely. Food is amazing and the atmosphere is great.
Louise always tries to be accommodating to people's wishes/requests and the locals are friendly too. Can't fault it, need to try the carvery next if it's a patch on the regular menu it will be a real treat.
Come every Monday for auction food amazing great value for money staff service so welcome brilliant night
We arrived for our Christmas lunch at 2pm as that was our seating time. We didn't receive our starters until 3.30pm, soup was inedible due to being cold. We then had the carvery for main, also inedible, all of our party tried a little bit of everything and all of it tasted so weird, not how food should taste, therefore none of us ate it. We had to complain about this and it completely put us off having a dessert, so we all refused the dessert. The staff was so rude, I asked a member of staff if there was any pigs in blankets, she stormed into the kitchen came back out slammed them on the side and stormed off again! Had a terrible attitude. There was only one member of staff that was lovely, unfortunately I didn't take her name. When our party complained (which we wasn't the only party to complain, they had received a lot) the manager could not handle the complaints, she stormed off into the kitchen, not very professional. We had such high expectations due to coming here last year and it being the best Christmas dinner! Even staff was saying how much of a disaster it was! Would not come back again. Highly disappointed.
New management have done an amazing job with the place! Food is the best that it's ever been and the pub is super well kept. Great value and always worth the visit! 👌
The landlords and staff are all super friendly and the atmosphere feels welcoming. Would highly recommend people to give it a try, the place is definitely slept on right now, deserves a lot more exposure and footfall! 🍻
