About This Pub
Oh, let me tell you about Keg & Comfort – it's one of those hidden gems that just warms your heart the second you step inside. The folks behind the bar are so welcoming and really know their stuff when it comes to the drinks, with a fantastic array of ales, ciders, and even some tasty non-alcoholic choices that change up regularly, so there's always something new to discover. They've got all sorts of events going on, like vinyl nights or movie evenings, which make it feel like a proper community hub where you can relax and have a laugh with mates. On the flip side, it's only open a few days a week and has the odd closure, which might be a bit of a nuisance if you're not planning ahead, and the spirits aren't exactly extensive if that's your thing. All in all, though, it's a top-notch place for a laid-back pint or two – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a bit of that cosy pub charm.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly, knowledgeable, and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got a cracking selection of ales, ciders, and even non-alcoholic options, with new brews popping up regularly to keep things exciting.
-
Loads of fun events like jam sessions, movie nights, and quizzes that really add to the lively atmosphere.
-
Prices are spot on – inexpensive and won't dent your wallet, making it perfect for a casual night out.
-
It's got a warm, cosy vibe with a real community feel, and it's dog-friendly too, which is just lovely for us animal lovers.
Cons
-
It's only open four days a week, so you might have to plan around that if you're hoping for a spontaneous visit.
-
There are occasional closures, like in September, which could catch you out if you're not keeping an eye on their updates.
-
The spirits selection is a bit limited, so if you're after a wide range of those, you might need to look elsewhere.

Warm, welcoming, dog-friendly micropub with a great sense of community, housed in a repurposed old bank branch. Cosy atmosphere with reasonably-priced snack food options and extensive, rotating cask beer and cider menu. We love our new local!
Lou and John are such great hosts who make sure everyone enjoys themselves. Great drinks and snacks, relaxed atmosphere and always feel welcome.
