About This Pub
Ah, Junction Café & Bistro – what a gem it is for a bite in Watford! I've got to say, it's one of those places that really hits the mark for a casual get-together over some proper food without the hefty price tag. The menu's full of fresh, daily-prepared dishes that feel a bit special, like their full English or fluffy pancakes, and everything's made with care by a team that's clearly passionate about what they do. The staff are just brilliant, always greeting you with a smile and making sure you're looked after, which adds to that cosy, homely feel inside. It's spot on if you're popping in for breakfast or a quick lunch, especially since it's so handy near the station. On the flip side, though, it's more of a daytime cafe setup, so if you're in the mood for a proper evening out with drinks and a buzzier atmosphere, you might find it a tad quiet or not quite what you're after. Still, for value, quality, and that friendly service, it's definitely worth a visit – I'd pop in again in a heartbeat for a solid meal and a good chat.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot-on – fresh, delicious, and with some creative twists that make it feel a cut above your average cafe fare.
-
Prices are really reasonable, offering bistro-quality grub without breaking the bank, which is a win for anyone watching their pennies.
-
Service is warm and welcoming; the staff are always cheerful and on point, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a cosy atmosphere with nice decor that's been updated to keep things fresh and inviting.
-
Super convenient location near Watford station, ideal for a quick stop before heading out or after a day of exploring.
Cons
-
Operating hours are mostly daytime, wrapping up around 4pm, so it's not the place for a late-night catch-up or evening pint.
-
As a cafe rather than a traditional pub, it might lack that lively pub vibe if you're after something more boisterous with a focus on drinks.
-
From what I've seen, it's all about the food and service, but there might not be as many options for those seeking a wider variety of beverages or entertainment.

very nice good food and service for cheap prices, 10/10 would come again
I recently stopped by with my family of 5 for a quick lunch before we set out for the Warner Brothers Studio tour. Junction Cafe was a pleasant surprise. It's a short walk from the rail station. We were immediately greeted and provided a table. The food was excellent. The service was fast and friendly. If I was a local, I'd eat at Junction Cafe all the time!
So cosy, caring and kind personal. Good food and close to the station. Good coffe.
Junction Café Bistro in Watford is my go-to spot for breakfast! The food is always fresh and full of flavor—whether it’s their perfectly cooked full English or fluffy pancakes, it’s all amazing. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it such a welcoming place to start the day. Great coffee, great vibes—highly recommend!
Junction cafe is a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend and is the best cafe in Watford by a mile.
I go here quite often. The food is fantastic, always done fresh. The staff are all very polite, welcoming and cheerful. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and is always very clean.
