About This Pub
Ah, the Junction – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, doesn't it? Tucked away in Upminster, it's got this lovely community vibe where you're always greeted with a warm welcome and a cheeky smile from the team. I have to say, the service stands out a mile; stories from regulars rave about managers and staff like Craig and Praise who make every visit feel special, whether it's recommending a drink or sorting out any little issues with real professionalism. The food's another highlight – I'm talking proper hearty dishes like that flat iron steak or fish and chips that hit the spot every time, and it's all served up without any fuss. Plus, if you're into your sports, it's a dream with live screenings of everything from footy to rugby, and they've got that outdoor area that's just perfect for soaking up the sun with a pint in hand, especially if you've got the family or the dog in tow. On the flip side, while most feedback is glowing, that 4.1 rating hints at the occasional off day, maybe when it gets packed during big matches and things slow down a touch. And as a Greene King spot, it's solid but not exactly groundbreaking – you won't find anything wildly innovative on the menu or in the decor. Still, for a reliable night out without the drama, it's a solid choice; I'd reckon booking ahead for events is a smart move to avoid any queues. All in all, it's a place that does the basics brilliantly and then some, so if you're in the area, give it a go – you might just find your new favourite local.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The service is absolutely top-notch; the staff go out of their way to make you feel right at home, with mentions of folks like Craig and Praise who really add that personal touch.
-
The food is a real winner – think delicious flat iron steak and classic fish and chips that leave you wanting more, all served up with a smile.
-
It's a brilliant spot for catching live sports, from Premier League footy to the Women's Euros, making it perfect for a lively get-together.
-
Being family and dog-friendly with outdoor seating means it's ideal for a relaxed day out, whether you're with the kids, the pooch, or just mates.
-
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, right in the heart of Upminster, feeling like a proper community hub where everyone feels included.
Cons
-
With an overall rating of 4.1, it seems not every visit is flawless – perhaps the odd service hiccup or busier times when things get a bit hectic.
-
As a Greene King pub, it might not have that ultra-unique vibe some folks crave, sticking to more standard offerings rather than something truly one-of-a-kind.
-
The moderate prices can add up quickly if you're settling in for a full afternoon or evening, so it's worth keeping an eye on the tab.

Love this pub. Always feel welcome. Great service. Food is delicious. Craig the manager always recognises us and makes a special effort.
Always come back here when we are in the area
Came with friends a few days ago and had a 10/10 experience. The flat iron steak was amazing, I highly recommend. Prompt service and friendly staff. A special mention goes to Praise, she gave us drinks recommendations and went the extra mile to make our experience exceptional and unforgettable. Thank you!
Visited Junction, Upminster with family and the fish & chips were fantastic. Definitely order if you visit! You won't regret.
All staff were friendly from the minute we stepped in but Praise went above and beyond to put a smile on our faces!
If your going to Junction, ask for Praise!
I was at the junction the weekend of the 12th when an incident occurred with a member of staff, I was later made aware that the manager of the pub Tom handled the incident with a professional manner which made my stay at the pub more comfortable. It was a situation that couldn’t of been dealt with better and I believe that Tom was the sole reason for this therefore I wanted to write this review to show my gratitude towards his professionalism and approach when it comes to these sort of situations.
Lovely pub. Food was nice, the staff are nice, especially a young lady called Maclare, she was vert polite, full of smiles and a great people person. Was so nice seeing a young lady enjoying her job. Nothing worse than miserable staff in a pub.
