About This Pub

Ah, Brewdog Upminster – it's one of those places that just draws you in with its lively atmosphere and top-notch craft beers. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by an impressive array of brews, including IPAs, stouts, and sours from all over, which makes it a haven for anyone who loves experimenting with their pint. Pair that with their tasty food offerings, like those standout burgers and wings that folks rave about, and you've got a recipe for a great night out. The staff really make it special too; they're so approachable and remember your usual order, which adds that personal touch we all appreciate. On the flip side, do keep an eye on the time if you've booked a table, as they have a pretty firm policy on lateness that could catch you out, and some dishes might feel a bit on the greasy side for those watching what they eat. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual catch-up with mates, especially if you're after that roof terrace spot on a nice evening, but it's worth noting it skews more towards adults-only fun after dark. I'd say give it a go – you'll likely leave with a smile and maybe a new beer to chat about next time we're out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The craft beer selection is absolutely brilliant, with 70 taps offering a fantastic mix from Brewdog, local UK breweries, and international ones – perfect for exploring new favourites.
  • The food menu is spot on, featuring delicious burgers, wings, and salads, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options to suit all tastes, and it's all designed to pair wonderfully with a pint.
  • The staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home, with mentions of standout service that really elevates the whole experience.
  • That roof terrace is a real gem, especially on a sunny day, adding a lovely outdoor vibe right in the heart of Upminster for relaxed chats and enjoying the atmosphere.
Cons
  • The booking policy can be a bit strict, as tables might be released after just 15 minutes if you're running late, which could lead to some disappointment if traffic gets in the way.
  • Some food items, like the sausages being deep-fried, might not hit the mark for everyone, feeling a tad heavy or not quite as expected.
  • With no one under 18 allowed after 8pm, it might not be the best choice for family outings in the evening, which could limit its appeal for certain groups.

So we booked for 10am-12pm for brunch. Had to travel.quite a way and got stuck in traffic only.to find out table was gone. In the small print, you have to be prompt, and after 15 minutes, you lose your table. So we got seated eventually. Ordered a breakfast. Was nice. Sausages deep fried though whereas they look grilled in the picture. Plump and juicy these where dry and oily. And it took forever. And upon leaving I over heard they had run out of bread and sausages. At 11am running out of stuff. Had to ask for sugar for the tea along with asking for butter with the toast. Service slow. 20mins for tea to arrive and 45 min for food. It wasn't busy. I think more staff are need who want to help. Nice music. A generous 3 stars because the food was quite nice

The burgers were ace, 2 for 1 cocktails, and the service from the lady upstairs was first class. I will check out the beers in the summer!
